September Stundie Nominations

I nominate Gray Brcechin 'visiting scholar at the University of California at Berkeley's Department of Geography'.

Until recently, I thought that I (like Van Jones) live in a country with a First Amendment that permits freedom of speech, thought and petition without fear of reprisal.

...

Since when did Salon permit Glenn Beck and the almost equally loony WSJ editorial page to set the terms of discussion, calling those who want answers to so much that remains unexplained about 9/11 "truthers" and thus giving them equivalence with "birthers," "deathers" and "tea baggers"?

...

Since when was he not entitled to his opinions, past or present? Was it when he was born black and inexcusably smart? Jones is the kind of visionary with whom Franklin Roosevelt surrounded himself but of which the Obama administration is almost entirely bereft, and now that administration has shamefully thrown him to the sharks.

Thanks to Sporanox for pointing this out.

Wow.

Major props to Joe911 for the way he dealt with those personal attacks.

I would like to nominate kylebisme for the following

put simply, the buildings could have been rigged to blow for the sake of public safety. Imagine how much much death and destruction would have resulted had the top of the building slid off the side. Then imagine how even more horrific the results would have been had the towers been toppled over after being bombed at their bases.

PUBLIC SAFETY = RIGGING BUILDINGS FOR CONTROLLED DEMO, Just in caase!!

this is a goldmine of stupidity.

CHF spotted these nice quotes from Black Krishna from a Toronto truther site (my bold to highlight the cognitive dissonance)

oops, i didn't mean "no" expressed interest in friday so far. it looks like tom, steve and i are in, but with only 3 of us in a city of 6 million celebrating the 8th anniversary of 9/11, the event doesn't make any sense.

after waiting a couple of days for responses i pulled the trigger on plan a, or meeting at nathan phillips square at 7 pm to record our thoughts at speakers corner, then celebrating our success so far by getting together with like-minded torontonians. it should be a good night for getting to know each other better, taking pictures, and showing how free we are to discuss these issues publicly and confidently in knowing we're doing the right thing.....

p.s. fyi, the saturday street action is still going since lots of people depend on us being there.

Shamelessly swiped from here

How about this suggestion from Smeggypants, or the artist known to us as 'Tin Foil Timothy'. Shame he isn't around any more. Apparently the reason Saudi Arabia is rich and Lebanon isn't is because the Saudis are friendly to the 'Zionists'. I mean, they have just as much oil in Lebanon, and Syria's planned economy is not to blame at all, right kids?

So, a country whose schoolbooks claim that The Protocols of the Elders of Zion are true is "friendly to the Zionists"?

Kognitive isn't likely to win a Stundie award with this post, but it had me laughing:

Another good one from that page (ETA: From ATTC):

You know I always shied away from the moon landing conspiracy theories because I didn't think the implications were big enough to really invest that much time into it.

Not to mention how they stereotype Conspiracy theories in general to such system of beliefs.

But maybe I should devote more time to looking into it, maybe we all should because if you think about it, technically that was the first example of TV Fakery!

He doesn't want to get stereotyped as having a conspiracy theory "system of beliefs", as he shows an absolutely perfect example of that in action!

Any structures subject to forces always behave in the same way. Actually ship structures are more difficult to analyze as they can displace in 3-D in an interface water/air. Buildings are much easier - just fixed to ground for easy reference. How are you getting along with your structure?

Heiwa time. My nomination...

It's been done.

Watch in amazement as this guy proves that not only are there no nuclear bombs, there is also no such thing as nuclear power and no such thing as radioactivity. The existence of unstable isotopes is just a big lie perpetrated by ...

... go, on, have a guess.

Yes, it's the Joos.

P.S: I nominate everything that that guy has ever written, said, thought, or done.

I just tried to read that thread. My woo-processing unit has been overloaded, my woo-kernel just seg faulted, and I now have a permanent woo screen of death whenever I try to run an application.

He thinks dinosaurs are a Jewish hoax.

"The jewish question. Can anyone deny that the jews had the means, the motives, and the opportunities to hoax the world with fake atom bombs and fake CVNEs and fake DU and the fake nuclear navy? They even faked moonlandings and NAZIS holocausts lying bastards that they are. They call their genocides wars and failed diplomacy, degenerate freaks. They faked the dinosaurs too it would appear."

I should have just stayed in bed this morning.

He keeps using the phrase "the motives, the opportunities and the means", but never goes further than that.

And, hah!

It has always been my understanding that an so-called anti-semite is someone the jews hate.
