Do you have any evidence that Omar's brother is not listed on her immigration papers?

Of course, even if not, that would not be Omar lying on her papers. That would be her parents. She was nine at the time, if I'm not mistaken.

I'd be surprised if a citizen would lose citizenship after decades because of an error (or lie) on the papers filled out by their parents. Perhaps it happens, but it sounds unlikely to me.

Well so what. I used to refer to my father's best friends as "Uncle Les" and "Aunt Daisy" even though they were in no way related to Dad, or me. This sort of thing is not uncommon.

Indeed, in Muslim communities, they often use honorifics such as Uncle, Aunt, Cousin, Niece, Nephew for people in a wider social group who are not blood relatives.

This business with Ilhan's marriage is all just a big nothingburger.

Let's just suppose that Omar's immigration papers falsely omitted her brother and that therefore they are invalid. Trump knew that before saying she should go back to Somalia, did he?

And Ayanna Pressley? Just acceptable unintended casualties in the war against illegal immigrants? (The same applies, of course, to Tlaib and AOC.)

Except in this case ... we don't know that it's actually the people involved.

This a conservative site with an axe to grind claiming the have a screenshot from Instagram ... but that post no longer exists and they have no one to corroborate that it ever actually existed.

Really, calling it a fact is quite a stretch.

Remember, this is Trump's America. We've seen military veterans deported because they are considered illegal.

It wouldn't shock me at all.

IKR ? I see people calling each other brother on social media all the time. Is this now to be considered useful evidence that they are related and in fact biological brothers ?

Deporting a non-citizen veteran is quite different than stripping citizenship and deporting a citizen whose been here since a child because of a discrepancy on her immigration papers. (Not, of course, that we know there is any issue with her papers. But, dammit, there could be. So she's as good as illegal.)
 
So, to be clear: Omar and her brother both wanted to move to the US, so Ilhan immigrated without listing him as a relative, and then married her own brother so he could immigrate...

This is already the most stupid story I've heard so far this year, so I'm going to stop here. Frankly, if anyone who thinks "dumb savage married her own brother" is a justification to effectively tell a black woman to go back to Africa...well, you've made a grave miscalculation. I'm more convinced than ever that not only is Dolt 45 a white supremacist, but the people in this thread that are on my ignore list, fully belong there.

And let's not forget AOC, Tlaib and Pressley. They were all told to go back to their countries, too.

Some people are saying those three don't even have immigration papers. If that don't scream "illegal immigrant", I don't know what do.

Making up a screenshot of a fake instagram post is something that would take me about ten minutes.

We've seen ICE deport people who had full citizenship, with no known errors in any paperwork. I've never heard a story of a white citizen being deported, though to be fair, I've only heard of two such stories at all and that's around 10% likelyhood to be only nonwhite people - unlikely but not impossible...
