Am I the only one to think "self-actualization" definitions are very similar to corporative babble?

No, you're not. One of the things that corporations try very hard to do is to sell themselves as comfortable places to work at/with. Maslow is a good source for comfortable-sounding words.
 
I was struck by the image of a corporate lackey interested in his/her own self-development being commonplace. Odd.

Unless, of course, you're talking about a Sears self-actualizer.
