Secret Prisons

Major Michael Mori seems to believe that David Hicks allegations, which include sexual abuse, hold water, and bear serious investigation.
Funny how the outrage is just one-sided. Where's the outrage of the things the terrorists have done? Like kidnapping and beheading civilians? Or all of the bombings that deliberately kill civilians? Sure, there's the statements comdemning it, etc. But the levels of attention outrage on each side do not match the transgressions. I wonder why that is...

I had a movie called "Secret Prisons" but my wife made me get rid of it.

Oops, I misspoke.

On a hunch I searched this box in the back of our cedar closet, and I found it! It turns out it's a triple feature with "Doing Hard Time" and "The Badge and the Nightstick." It's kind of a law enforcement theme, I guess.

I don't think it is rational to establish a country based on the principles we were, and expect Americans to just lightly set them aside because our so called leaders say it is right.

It is irrational, and not only that, it is a fool's mission. In case we need help to see what a fool's mission in action looks like, it looks like this:
WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney made an unusual personal appeal to Republican senators this week to allow CIA exemptions to a proposed ban on the torture of terror suspects in U.S. custody, according to participants in a closed-door session.

Cheney told his audience the United States doesn’t engage in torture, these participants added, even though he said the administration needed an exemption from any legislation banning “cruel, inhuman or degrading” treatment in case the president decided one was necessary to prevent a terrorist attack.

We know for a fact that the enemy has secret prisons where they torture their kidnapped prisoners until they kill them, but of course they're just ignorant savages and can't be held to the same standard as the United States. At least that's the only way I can understand the argument of anyone who can complain about the crimes of one side while ignoring those of the other... I have yet to hear anyone call for Al Qaeda to impeach Zarqawi.

I think we should find all enemy secret prisons, raid them, shoot the the torturers, find their leaders and shoot them too. In the head.

You want to hold the US to the same standards? Fiine with me.

Anybody have any other standard for people that engage in this kind of thing?

I used to think that Bush and Co. might be the worst administration ever visited upon the fine people of United States. With each day comes more revelations of the nasty things that the ruling leaders and their minions do.

I no longer "think" they "might be" the worst ...

Charlie (I'm positive that they "are") Monoxide

For what it's worth, I think that Bush and Co. will go down as the most divisive administration of the century. I don't mean disliked necessarily, I mean divisive, as in "political capital" divisive.

I keep seeing unproven references to these "secret" prisons that involve so much debate. I have my doubts that it is an established network or policy, when it seems they can do all that in Guantanamo anyway.

Next thing you know some released detainees are going to complain that they were mistreated by their countrymen on coming home, and want to go back to Gitmo where the social services were decent.

I've heard these rumors of secret prisons. I think it's possible, but doubtful.

It may be best to realize that most folks are already in prison. Those prisons are called "cities".

Now, before I get carried away, I'm going to leave.

The only reason I'm posting here is to get my post count up to 15 so I can post a reference link for a fellow who is wiggling around with BS. I need to nail him down.
