I'm curious, how did Screw Loose Change come about? Was it entirely created by MarkyX before he joined, or was it a joint JREF program?

Is there any record of Dylan's reaction to the film, or any surprise from the truthers?

I think MarkyX made the video drawing largely on Gravy's Loose Change Viewers Guide.

The Screw part made Loose Change so much more viewable and enjoyable :)

I wonder if it's Screw Loose Change or Screw Loose Change. Either way, it works! :D

And it's much better than the attempted debunking, "Screw Screw Loose Change".

i believe its both (as a clever pun) original one of them (cant recall if it was james or pat) started a blog called "loose change loose screw"

as for the blog/movie chicken/egg question, blog came first, then markyx made his movie (taking the name from the blog)

Well the more attempted "screwings" that could emerge from subsequent debunkings, can't be entirely a bad thing...isn't screwing a good thing?

;)

TAM:)

The double meaning is intended; James' initial idea for the name was "Loose Change, Loose Screws" but I thought SLC was tighter and better for the double entendre. Obviously others have agreed; I expect to see the name on a brand of dog food eventually. ;)

Screw Loose Kibbles (TM)
Hell yeah, it's all about the Bits son.

You know, I just now remember how the hell I ended up here at JREF. After watching SLC I joined Default's SCL forums, but it did not get a lot af traffic then. Some members where talking about JREF and that made me courious and joined here. I was (and still am) intimidated by the amount of knowledge of the members here at JREF.

Screw Loose Change, both the movie and the blog, are two amazing works by three amazing debunkers. Both were largely inspiring and educating for me when I begun researching the 9/11 conspiracy theories.

Dylan's reaction was pretty much an ad hominem directed at Marky because of his age and hobbies, as far as I can remember. None of the claims in SLC were addressed by Dylan in any formal way. He did, however add a link on the Loose Change blog to a page that was called "Screw Screw Loose Change", which doesn't really rebuke anything said by Marky in the film.

I love the play on words in the title as well :) Nice work Pat.

Yeah, the "Screw Loose Change" movie was put together by Marky with input from Gravy and other JREF forumites in one of those "Loose Change" threads from spring 2006 that are stickied at the top of the Conspiracy Theories subforum (those threads date from before the Conspiracy Theories subforum existed -- basically, this subforum was created to keep million-post-long "Loose Change" threads from filling up General Skepticism and the Paranormal)...

edit: oops, looks like I misremembered... Marky put together the video when he was a commenter on the SLC blog and not yet a JREF forum member, then the video was announced to JREF forumites in "Loose Change: Part II" by delphi_ote, after which Marky was invited to join here.
