Split Thread Scorpion's Spiritualism

There I was, attempting to see auras and trying hard to leave my body in my astral form. The phase didn't last long ... hallelujah. :D
When I was a school kid I was also attracted to books on auras and other kind of woo stuff. I could not see any auras, but for a brief moment I considered that auras could be smell, because I remembered that when I was a small kid, I thought I had a supernatural ability to detect when there were old people close by - because of the smell of urine! People on the street seems to have improved their hygiene in the 60'ies, because my ability had vanished. :)

It would seem then that you Steve, steenkh, and myself, have had similar youthful experiences and managed to emerge unscathed. Some however are not so lucky and permanent injury to the brain the result. A prosthetic head may be the only answer.

Remember the Kirlian photography fad?

I read 5 or so of Carlos Castenadas books when I was a teenager and somehow thought I was special because of it.

Yes. In the late 80's, my then teenage son read all of the Castaneda's books. It was like a rite of passage, making him feel he had an esoteric secret, shared by only a few, select people. Now, in his 40's, he still at times refers to Castaneda or one of his books. A lasting impression.

You know, I actually quite enjoyed the books. I liked the characters and interactions and descriptions of the experiences. I know its all garbage now, but I still look back on them with some fond memories. Most importantly, I did think I'm in the least bit special for having read them.

Reading this books at the direction of an another marvelous person who instructed me in several topics both exceptionally practical and exceptionally wooish, marks my deepest foray as a believer into that world.

That's a tragic tale, and I don't have an answer for it.
It absolutely is a tragic tale.

The problem is you DO have an answer.

According to you, the Angels of Karma chose that specific incarnation for the spirit because they knew exactly what was needed for the spirit to grow and evolve. There was no way to avoid it.

Isn't that right Scorpion?

Ursula Roberts, a famous medium who channeled spirit guides, said there may be injustices, but they will be compensated in future lives.

What does that have to do with the fact that you said you didn't have an answer when you absolutely did have one?

The answer is that, according to you, that spirit was DESTINED to go through that tragic ordeal because the Angels of Karma chose that particular incarnation. They determined that what the spirit needed would be experienced in that incarnation.

Isn't that correct Scorpion?

Ursula Roberts, a famous medium who channeled spirit guides...

We just got done talking about how so many of these people are, according to you, fake mediums. How do you know Ms Roberts is not a fake medium looking to sell books that do no more than tell people what they want to hear?

And I agree with Gamolon. When dealing with tragedy head-on, you throw up your hands and express sympathy, because that's what a normal person should do. But theologically he's absolutely right: In your preachier moments you callously discard such suffering because that's what your religion teaches. According to this half-baked personal religion of yours, all this horrible suffering somehow works out in the wash according to rules nobody -- not even you or Ms Roberts -- seems to be able to figure out for sure. You ran away from your religion thread right as everyone had you rightly cornered on the illogic and inconsistency of this spiritualist religion you seem to have appointed yourself evangelist of.

Reconcile your contradiction Scorpion.

They simply guide the process of our karma to give us the motivations and opportunities to change our ways.

Why would the Angels of Karma pick an incarnation with a predetermined experience for a spirit that NEEDS that particular experience to further evolve only to have spirit guides try an steer them away from those experiences?

Which leads to the question when the karma Angels create these injustices are they punished for their mistakes?
