In the "truth" movement, scholarship is a liability, not an asset.

It is claims of scholarship, not scholarship itself, that the movement finds valuable.

I disagree.

I think they appreciate scholarship.

The problem is they don't know what the eff it actually entails.

Like ID folks with science. It's a scientific way of going about the God business, right? No, they just don't understand science.


[I'm a little bitter about Fetzer -- he's a professor in my hometown and it's mildly embarrassing to have that association. But at least Bob Dylan was born in Duluth, too]

The problem is they don't know what the eff it actually entails.

They like to collect lists of names of highly qualified individuals that support their cause. Unfortunately, in my experience they aren't that interested in checking to see if these qualifications are genuine, or even if the people on the lists actually exist.

I'm mildly embarrassed that he and I are members of the same species.
