I was wondering exactly what the crime was supposed to be, so I looked up the article...

"Harper told the Huffington Post today that the original charges of tresspasing, malicious mischief, and indecent exposure (thanks to Lucien tea-bagging Catherine Johnston's grave, which can be seen here) have been dropped because "the judge refused to sign a warrant on them." In the end, Lucien has been charged with desecration of a grave."

So the crime is desecration of a grave... without actually having damaged or disturbed the grave site in any way.

I wonder if the town has any plans to stop the "desecration" (gleeful celebration) of Phelps' grave whenever the slime has the good sense to die and burn in his hell forever. My understanding is that the visitors to the gravesite plan to leave deposits such that a river of urine will flow through the town - as the stated quantities likely should thoroughly soak the ground within minutes of the visitation.

Yes - going back through (very time consuming) the many threads on Fred and crew and their antics it has been suggested often that various gay rights groups as well as other groups and individuals have expressed interest in urinating or leaving a more solid gift on Fred's grave to help send him off to a warmer clime. I am in firm agreement with these people and would love a chance to contribute - the sooner the better!!

It would seem to me that indecent exposure is the only actually illegal act that was done. I would assume that the cemetery is open to the public, so I don't see how it could be trespassing. If nothing was vandalized, I don't see where they can get either malicious mischief or desecration.
