I'm listening to "Coast to Coast AM" right now. I don't believe anything on it, unless he has Phil Plait "The Bad Astronomer" on, but anyway, Noory was just taking calls, and a satanist called in.

He was laughing at the fact that the "god believers" are always killing each other (Noory had to admit that he was right there!) This caller than said that in "2 or 3" years, when the religious people kill each other off in "armageddon" then the Satanists will rule what's left over, or some crap like that.

Hopefully, in 2 or 3 years when BFA happens, then he'll realize he's wrong and drop that crap altogether!

;)If on the other hand, he's right, I say that then those character will have to fight with us! Superstitious belief would have just been responsible for a war, and there'd be no way in hell we'd let anymore superstitious wackos get in charge!

Do you think it was a real Satanist or a bored teenager?

Were they by any chance calling from Nebraska?

They say satanism is the perfect religion.
Ya ◊◊◊◊ up, ya go to heaven

Sorry to derail this important discussion, but I have a question for the_ignored--is it my imagination, or is your avatar a guinea pig with a pancake on its head?

Actually, ive been to a few satanist websites, and that is bears a striking resemblance to how they normally act, mostly. The armageddon part however im rather skeptical about however.

This morning it was on the news.

The guy who (allegedly) killed his pregnant wife on Christmas, took her out to the bay and sank her, and was arrested recently when her corpse (and the baby's corpse) washed up seperately on beaches within a day or two of each other - get this - claims it was SATANISTS who conspired to kill his wife and FRAME him.

Yup, you heard it here.

More of them pesky "Satanists" you keep hearing about. Obviously, this guy's as innocent as his unborn baby. "Satanists" were involved. You have his word... oh, and his lawyer's word. Something about a "brown van", too. Hey! Maybe UPS stands for United Parcel Satan?

Did not there use to be a great concern over these groups?
At first, satanists and satan worshippers (delusional criminals in many a case) should be kept separate.
I find it amusing,in a sad manner when the case gets on paper and you get to read stuff like this;talk about satan this&devil that.
I suppose it can be a need of a type for our xian flavoured society to ride on such.
I really do like the idea that law is supposed to apply to this,it´s not about a mythological, fear bearing creature but the person is delusional for the start.

In this particular case, it reeks of a nice story to try to pursuade good Christian jurors. After all, as the media keeps telling us, no HUMAN could commit a crime so heinous, so it must be some sort of satanic cult all possessed by demons and such. After all, Jesus drove demons into pigs and they killed themselves, so naturally demons are real.

The only problem I have with satanism is that it is reverse christianity. Now there are those who label themselves as set-ians and typhonists.

Most of the literature on satan worship is bogus, it leaves out your mundane rock and roll satanists who do knock over gravestones and kill kittens.
Then they go after the OTO(A quasi masonic group of sex magicians) becaus they LOOK like satanists. They seem to have a hard time identifying the real satanists to begin with.
Test of religious freedom, always insert satanism into the equation.

Seems to me that if there was a satan he would be very pleased to count all the pious christians who beat thier wifes as 'satanists'.

Peace

That's a rabbit, with a short stack on its head. I saw that picture in last Sunday's NY Times, in an article about photo blogs.

There was great furor over this. The whole "satanic cults ate my baby!" craze. It was, basically, an invented phenomenom. People under hypnosis accused their parents and others of various acts.

There was also Geraldo's "Satanic Metal" stuff in the late 80's. It was the commitment to quality, serious type of reporting that you expect from Geraldo.

Various Christian organizations have exposed these as bogus, the one I remember is Cornerstone magazine.

Let us have a moment of silence for dear, departed Oolong, whom I can guaruntee is not currently being roasted over a spit by Satan.
