Salon with Sylvia

A friend of mine has booked a salon visit thing with Sylvia Browne. She is taking a friend and wants to know if there is any more interest in more people going to punk Sylvia. What they have in mind is inspired by Mark Edward's clever punk, but very very devious. Sylvia will not know what hit her, and prove herself once again unable to see a skeptic.

My friend has been to an event like this before and knows how this operates. It will go smoothly.

Pm me or post here if interested. Here is the punked video just in case your one of the few that has not seen it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BradlE-Uloc&feature=youtube_gdata

Sylvia will still be hosting a Spiritual Salon in Campbell, CA. Call Pam at 408-376-2124 to register.

I'm thinking it might not be a great idea to announce what you're going to do in advance...oops!

Sylvia's staff are instructed to read this forum from time to time. I wouldn't advise spending a thousand dollars per entry into a salon and then post it in a thread. They will just have you removed if you create any kind of problem. Christopher usually makes an appearance at the salons as well so that Sylvia's ego monster can be fed by showing him off to her fans. If you are asking why, I don't know either. It is a twisted, codependent relationship.

Remember that the people that attend the salons are die hard fans of hers. They fly from all over the country (and sometimes internationally), usually end up staying in a hotel if they are from a different area, pay for transportation, food, and the cost of the salon. Anyone willing to spend all that for one measly day in a room listening to her, will GANG UP on you if they think you are doing anything against their precious Sylvia.

If you do something, make it worthwhile and make it so that it's not immediately obvious to them about what you're doing.

People just sit around her office getting paid to cruise the internet, update her Twitter status, communicate on Facebook, log into her new message board, solicit clients for readings, handle whatever drama Christopher or Sylvia create that particular day. So much time is wasted there on crisis control for when either one of those two decide to act up. All of the staff and ministers know that.

Why bother with any of it?
Spend a few thousand dollars just to punk Sylvia?
It wouldn't change a thing.
Better to spend that money on feeding some hungry people.

Worse yet, the few thousand dollars would go into Browne's coffers.

Do these things really cost a thousand dollars? Jesus.

BTW. Isn't it funny that Montel Williams seems to get a free pass? He actually seems like a decent guy aside from leeching off Sylvia Browne, but he's complicit too.

Dear HumanityBlues,

It is my opinion that Sylvia is the one who leeches off of Montel, not the other way around. Do you know how valuable it was for her to have a one hour daytime slot on tv when she was on Montel's show every week? That type of advertising was worth thousands upon thousands of dollars. People would call her office for readings after seeing her on tv and they would look up her lecture schedule and go buy tickets to her shows.

Sincerely,

Francine

Oh I absolutely agree with you. But I think it works both ways. He had her on his shows because she brings in great ratings (not so sure that would be the case anymore---I think the Internet has saved a lot of damaging stuff that people would forget about, i.e. Shawn Hornbeck or that poor 911 widow). That's all I meant. Personally I just think they leech off each other.

Do you think Montel Williams actually thinks she's legitmate? I haven't seen any comment from him about Shawn Hornbeck's kid or the 911 widow debacle that made the news. Those were both on his show and made national news.

Not at all. He's gotten a lot of criticism over Sylvia Browne. Oddly, a lot of people (myself included) have said he is more blameworthy than Sylvia herself.

As for whether he is a decent guy...I've seen him in person several times and he can be gracious, gentlemanly and intelligent but he can also be rude, impatient and cruel. He seems to have the same attitude towards Sylvia's victims as she does: one of contempt and impatience.

I went to two tapings of (was it two? Yes, I think it was) non-Sylvia shows and he seemed nice enough there. When he criticized a guest, he did it respectfully. I don't recall him being bad to any of his staff but others have reported he often is.

He's championed some good causes and done some good public service projects but he's also exploded at a teenage reporter, championed alternative medicine, called some public figures ugly names on his show, had three marriages and had a wild child daughter. Though the last two might not be good criteria for judging him.

Ya. I think the marriage stuff is irrelevant and personal but...quick question.
Where is this criticism coming from for Montel Williams? Cause if it's there I haven't seen any of it in the news.

When the Shawn Hornbeck story broke and Robert got interviewed for all those radio shows, Montel Williams and what he thought about Sylvia came up a lot.

James Randi wrote and said a lot about him and his promotion of Sylvia, too.

And I believe Bill O'Reilly had some harsh words to very briefly say about Montel featuring Sylvia.

And Howard Stern spoke about the Shawn Hornbeck fiasco and had some pretty bad things to say about both Sylvia and Montel.

Edit: Here's the Stern episode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWddRQUWwIk

Edit 2: How odd that people keep saying that he is worse than she is. I've thought so numerous times. Other skeptics have said so numerous times. Howard and Robin say the same thing.

I guess part of the reason is that Sylvia really can't help being a con woman. That's who she is. The person who gives her a license and opportunity to do it on a large scale, though, that is who is responsible for her evil.

Thanks!:D

Just watched that video. God she is scum isn't she? Easily the worst of all of them IMO. Although, John Edward pisses me off just as much, so.....

If I could only spit in the face of one.....I just don't know who I would choose.

I can't answer for Montel Williams. But imo (I'm getting good at this internet stuff, eh?), she has him convinced the same way she has her staff and ministers convinced. They believe in her and love her.

The thing is, even in all the time she was on Montel's show, they didn't spend that much time together compared to the time she is around her staff and ministers. She is on good girl behaviour around him for one so her negative attitude is in check. Second, she flew in, taped several shows in one visit, and left. They hold the shows and air them when they want. When she is there taping, they don't hang out together backstage except to say hi and have a brief chat.

So the answer is that he probably looks at her as the cute, cranky old grandma type person and people got psyched in the audience when she was there. As a host, he would have to enjoy that.

I don't know if he has been presented with the facts about her on the famous cases that came out. You would think he would, but I don't know.
