There's no interpreter here for the Arabic. What were those guys shouting when they showed the Saddam footage?
 
The thing is that he will probably get a better trial than many that were conducted when he was in the driving seat.
 
Regarding what the Iraqis were shouting at the conference, I have a partial answer only.

I was watching (not in the same room, but on another tv in the green zone) with an American who speaks moderate Arabic (I speak a few words) and some Iraqi translators.

I could tell they were saying something Saddam! repeatedly.

The American said it was just general insults.

The Iraqi said it was something like a mix of "Down Saddam" and "Hate Saddam" and "Never again Saddam".

Then he said it was more a thing like "You used to be high and mighty, but look at you now, Saddam"

Best I can do.

They said on the news that he was in a "talkative" mood. Sounds interesting...
 
I think more truths will appear now about some of the terrible things that happened under his control. What is known is bad enough, I feel that what will come out will be many times worse.
 
Kudos to those who tracked him down and caught him. Cowering in a hole, surrendering without a fight, now "co-operative and talkative". Couldn't be better. Of course, there will be those who continue to deny it's him. Look out for a denial from "Saddam".
 
This is indeed wonderful news. Perhaps now we can get some answers to a lot of the nagging questions about this war. Also the US can stop destroying whole households every time they hear a rumor about Saddam hiding there.

This is truly fantastic news. Now with the threat of evil Saddam removed, we can expect a speedy withdrawal of all US and UK troops, the immediate transfer of all power to democratically elected Iraqi parliament with full control over fossil fuel resources and the cancellation of all debt repayments.
