Rosemary Hunter...

jref being unfair

Rosemary has me very excited to see her results, as the priliminary tests are interesting. That said, I have a large concern about the test...

JREF staff have said the target(s) will empty themselves in the bathroom beforehand. Please check with Ms. Hunter to see if she is OK with this. This could be something she has overlooked, and I don't want her possibly valid powers to go un-noticed because of this.

Is this really necissary, to have everyone go to the bathroom? She said she will make you pee, not create urine from nothing! I think test subjects should be REQUIRED to have some urine, to ensure fairness. Its not that hard to hold it for 1/2 hour.

I don't care how strong her suggestion is, I would not pee myslef from that, and emptying all bladders before hand is cheating on JREFs part IMO.

She cannot create urine!!

I'm afraid you may not have read the challenge information and understand how this works. The applicant being tested comes up with a protocol and all this will be spelled out in it.

I realize the applicant comes up with the protocol but I have read,

"Ms. Hunter has not specified whether the person needs to have an empty or full bladder. To my knowledge, it doesn't matter."

And then later he mentions all participants will empty their bladder before the test.

I just want to make sure Ms. Hunter does not forget to specify something which seems obvious to her, and that she is well aware the test subjects will have empty bladders.

The general sense I get is that she does not, though I could be wrong and maybe she has OK'd this, but I would hate for this to be a surprise come test day.

PS, also she sounds a little nuts so this fact should be spelled out too her very clearly and not masked within a sea of protocol.

deathduck has a fair point. Jeff's bladder should have some urine in it to make this a fair test and if Ms Hunter fails to specify this, it should be pointed out to her beforehand to let her add it to the protocol if she so desires.

While I kind of agree, the trouble is how do you define "some"? The bladder will never be completely empty, so there is always "some" in there. I think it really needs Ms Hunter to clarify what she can actually do before worrying about this part of the protocol.

Ms. Hunter specified, after the point where it said "to my knowledge it does not matter", that all test subjects should have empty bladders.

Ms. Hunter has agreed to allow us to air the test live via webcam. A loose date has been set for the first week of November.

For those of us who won't be able to watch it live, will this recording be available for download?

There will be no diapers involved.

I can't believe no one has asked this before. Maybe it's already answered somewhere, but I couldn't find it. My question is....
What (if anything) will Jeff Wagg be wearing during the test?
  • Diapers? No (quoted above).
  • "Normal" pants? Hard to check if the test is passed or failed. I guess that, after the test, it would be nice to be able to check if there was any urination at all, however small it could be.
  • Only underwear? Hard to imagine it could be aired.
  • Nothing? Even harder.
I'm running out of ideas. I'm thinking about the kind of cloth people wears in the beach (sorry, don't know the English word for that), but I'm sure there has to be a simpler answer to my question.

So we are going to see a 15 min video of a man sitting in a chair waiting to pee himself. Is Jeff at least gonny crack a few jokes or do some card tricks or something? Otherwise it's gonny be a long and boring 15 mins.

That is pretty much what I am betting on!

Jeff sitting around playing solitare, reading, or some other such thing for 15 minutes without any 'accidents'.

Okay, stupid thought here, but.....

Ms. Hunter will have fifteen minutes to paranormally cause Jeff Wagg to urinate himself. There will be no diapers involved. Mr. Wagg will empty his bladder beforehand, as per Ms. Hunter's instructions.

I hope it is in the protocol that if Jeff empties his bladder beforehand "per her instructions" aka goes to the bathroom right before the test at her behest, that this is not included in the 15 minute time frame, or she could claim that he urinated and she caused him to do it.

I know you guys probably thought that through, but thought I'd throw it in here anyway.

Why am I skeptical that the test will be done? I guess I’ve become a pessimist in my old age.

I'm just hoping that the video camera will be positioned so that, as well as the test subject, it can show the applicants face. That should be quite entertaining, especially as the time limit approaches.

How to get someone to urinate when they have an empty bladder

1. Do not turn up. This is the usual method of performing the preliminary test.
2. Smuggle in a water pistol loaded with urine. Use it when no-one is looking.
