Ron Paul? What are your thoughts?

Which must also mean Phil Plait is a lunatic for appearing with Art Bell/George Noory.

1) I never said that Ron Paul was a lunatic for appearing on Alex Jones. In fact, I never said Ron Paul was a lunatic at all.

2) Did Phil Plait appear on Coast to Coast because it was easy? If not, then what I said does not apply to Phil Plait.

ETA: 3) I do not know enough about George Noory to say whether or not he is as as big a professional chucklehead as Alex Jones.

He's not. I listen to him from time to time.

His listening audience on the other hand....

Agreed. Both Art Bell and Alex Jones promote woo. The former allows differing viewpoints on his show, the latter does not.

And when Phil goes on Coast to Coast, he argues against the woo. Ron Paul does not.

What I like about Congressman Paul is that he'll dare say what others are afraid to say.

What I find tiresome about Congressman Paul is that some of what he dares say is ridiculous, and he can't seem to filter out the utter nonsense from the semi useful "rubbing against the grain" stuff.

Ron Paul is hopelessly naive about the world's ways. His economic policies alone are very bad ideas (basically, it's a return to the gilded age, as in Scrooge era) and hsi foreign policy is also incredibly naive (Westphalia is dead. it died with globalisation's rise)

C4L wants to do away with public education. Too totally wrong for America to even take the group that would promote it seriously. Paul may not want to march us off to any more wars, but, at the same time, I have not seen the slightest indication that he has a clue how to govern in times of peace and prosperity, let alone in such interesting times as these.

What made you think he was a lunatic?

He rejects economics, biology and medicine at a minimum. As an evolution denier he probably rejects many more fields of science as well, although I haven't seen clarification from him.

Run Ron Run!!! :)

:popcorn6

Sweet Christ no. Remember all the Ronulans who kept annoying half the Internet preaching the Gospel of Ron? I really don't want to deal with that again.

If Oliver starts popping up with his annoying oversized graphics again, I'm blaming you. :p

So did Ron Paul register here and tell us his thoughts yet?

In 2012 he will be seven years older than McCain was when he ran for president in 2008. He will be only a few months younger than Ronald Reagan was when he left the presidency.

Paul is good at dodging all the questions which would make him have to confront the fallacies in his positions. And his son learned the technique quite well.

You know I live to make you suffer, Cleon ;)

Was a Paulite when I first got into politics, but left that after a few months

I generally agree with the assertions that he's like a backwards clock, but I also think he's better for us than virtually any other member of the GOP. Some positions are *******, but at least they're *his* positions, instead of the corporatocracy's. However, a lot of his positions are inadvertently still very totalitarian.

That said, it's hard to figure how an RP presidency would be. Most of what he would want to do, he couldn't, but it's possible he could make some headway on civil liberties like drugs and gambling. Personally, I would much prefer if Paulism was the base of the GOP because then instead of liberalism vs corporatism it would be liberalism vs libertarianism, or something like that

If Ron Paul cares about America, why doesn't he care about Alex Jones brainwashing millions of people with total lies? 9/11, Jared Loughner's a mind-control victim, anti-vax... enough to make you puke! He can't be classified as anything other than a scumbag for lending credibility to Alex. Maybe he goes on the show because he secretly agrees with him, or he's just a scumbag politician that doesn't mind courting these people as supporters.

I'm not sure if Noory or Bell believe in stuff that's that bad. If they do, going on their show and not calling them out on it is pathetic, no matter who you are. We're not talking about "Is there are a life after death" or "Are UFOs real" we're talking about the sickest stuff imaginable... stuff that if you believe will literally drive you insane, make you have nightmares, cry in your sleep, just like Alex admits to...
