I am suprised no one here is talking about this... maybe I missed a thread along the way? Sorry if this was posted before....
Anyway, Romney was talking about meeting this soldier at a gathering and how they had shared interests. He actually said....
If Romney was so touched by this man's story you would think he would have actually remembered him 20 minutes after he met him the first time not after he learned he could use this soldiers death for his political gain months later.
In fairness, it sounds like Romney has stopped talking about the story of meeting the soldier who has since passed away "to respect his mother's wishes."

Romney said:And it touched me obviously that I recognized that this young man that I thought was so impressive has lost his life in the service of his fellow men and women.

From the link said:A Seattle-area news site spoke with one of Mr Doherty's friends, who disputed the details of the encounter, saying that Mr Romney repeatedly introduced himself then apparently forgot.
''He said it was pathetic and comical to have the same person come up to you within only a half-hour, have this person reintroduce himself to you, having absolutely no idea whatsoever that he just did this 20 minutes ago, and did not even recognize Glen's face,'' Elf Ellefsen told mynorthwest.com.
He added that his friend was non-political and his appearance on the stump ''does make me sick. Glen would definitely not approve of it.''
