Wow, this film has the promise of having the Historical Accuracy of "10'000 BC"and the Scientific Accuracy of "Day After Tommorow".
Frankly, my respect for a number of very good actors has gone down for their appearing in this junk.
And, yes, the Oxfordian theory of the authorship of Shakespeare's plays is regarded by almost all historians and literary experts as crackpot history.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I hate people. Rylance and Jacobi were behind the "Declaration of Reasonable Doubt" a few years ago.

And the historical accuracy of a work of fiction is an issue because...? I wasn't aware that 10,000 BC and The Day After Tomorrow were anything other than entertainment. Did they ever make any claims they were factually correct?

He was using those references as examples, not as fact, dear pedant.

For instance, I may say a band has all the musical talent of a trash compactor. I am not suggesting that trash compactors are legitimately attempting to make music.

To be fair, is there any indication that this film is being presented as a documentary or as non-fiction? I mean, I just saw Tron:Legacy a few days ago, and I don't think that any computer science departments are going to be worried about how it misrepresents how computers work.

I have no idea, I was just clarifying the intent of the OP in the examples he chose as comparisons.

So what? If it's an entertaining movie, which it seems like it might be, I'll see it.

It isn't a history book or a documentary, it's a thriller. I can watch the Bourne movies and enjoy them even though much of what happens is not possible. Whay shouldn't I enjoy this?

So the entire OP is rather silly. It might as well have said the following:

The Lost Boys has the promise of having the historical accuracy of Willow and the scientific accuracy of Spirited Away.

Those are two of my favorite movies!
Lost boys was kind of fun too.

Clearly you haven't heard the rabid debates at my work over how they could have better done such things. ;)
