Roger Stone Claim: Satanic Vortex Over White House

Well, here we go with the same thing that got me kicked off of the Apollohoax forum (no rules infraction, just made myself unpopular with the host as I pointed out the same things as I am doing here). You are arguing with the same logical fallacies and conjecture that CT-ists use. Perhaps you are one? I don't know. Regardless, what happens when people talk about emotional topics, such as politics (depending on the individual, naturally), is they can allow themselves to use the same poor thinking and fallacies that they eschew (if they consider themselves skeptics), without either realizing, and/or acknowledging that fact.

Let's recap the recent discussion. Trebuchet made a post where conclusions were made regarding ALL modern-day Republicans, with no valid supporting evidence. I am sure it was meant more as a joke than an actual declaration of fact, so I answered somewhat light-heartedly to point out the fabrication of data.

You replied to that comment of mine with your "functional difference" question, which came with no qualifiers, so it can be assumed you are also talking about ALL modern-day Republicans. So, I replied to YOU with, "If you are saying all members of a political party do one or the other (believe or pretend to), you are doing the same conjuration of data."

Your last reply has modified the amount of Republicans to "most", with no acknowledgement of this modification, which does change the context somewhat, but you still have major logical issues within your post.

Can I read Republicans' minds and show that most of them don't believe in the Big Lie, etc.? No. But neither can you to claim otherwise. Your belief that it is fair to judge them by their action(s) without soliciting explanation(s) fails on two levels.

First of all, you have provided no evidence to show that "most" republicans have performed action(s) in step with the message disseminated in the video. Secondly, it is obviously NOT fair to judge someone on just their actions, as mitigating circumstance(s) can sometimes be a major factor in explaining those actions. Example: A person's action of stealing a fire extinguisher from inside a shop can be condoned if the purpose was to douse a fire nearby.

My whole point is Trebuchet's post was conjecture, not fact, and just as a CT uses conjecture in lieu of facts, we should be careful not to do the same. Of course, when trying to be humorous, most conventions of logic are suspended, but it wasn't clear if that was Trebuchet's intent, or not. That's why my reply to Trebuchet was, in what I felt, a somewhat ribbing manner. Your replies have been decidedly serious, so I have responded in like. I am not trying to be antagonistic, just logical.

Thanks for the work you put in your post, and at other times I would be fully onboard with your POV.

But in the current case, official Republicans get censured when they say that the election was fair and Trump lost, and Republicans supporting the Big Lie get full Party backing.

The Big Lie is such a direkt attack on American Democracy that no true Conservative could be a member of, or just support a Party that is running on it if they didn't believe it was true.

So the Benefit of the Doubt for Republicans is that they almost all do believe the Lie, because the alternative is that they want to actively destroy US democracy as set up by Founding Fathers.

The alternative isn't between "dupe" and "sane person", but between aware or unaware seditionist.

But I'm fine with saying that 98% of Republicans are Seditionists instead of dangerously guilible lemmings.

You have to admit that if there were Satanic Vortexes, over the White House would be a likely place to look for one.

Still just generalized accusations and unsupported conjecture. Though I do not doubt the veracity of the core of your complaints in regards to SOME people, you cannot support your numbers, nor their intentions without applying your own bias and exaggerations to the mix. Example: Your claim, "they almost all do believe the Lie" is close, but not accurate, at least according to https://news.yahoo.com/poll-two-thi...k-the-2020-election-was-rigged-165934695.html. And your reasoning that "they want to actively destroy US democracy as set up by Founding Fathers", is YOUR conjectured spin. I really am not trying to defend erroneous positions within the Republican party, just pointing out that some of your tactics are in line with CT arguments. And this is a trap we can all fall into when emotions and bias are not held in check.

Holy cow. Just holy cow. Whatever respect and regard that I still had for Roger Stone flew out the window when I watched this video. Democrats have extremists like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib and Raphael Warnock. Republicans have Roger Stone (and probably a few others).

Stone, a proverbial hedonist and atheist, converted to Christianity for Tax reasons; or more likely, to milk the Televangelist milchcows for donations, because there is no easier target demographic to take money from.

And like any recent convert, he has to do everything 200% to prove that he no longer like kinky bisexual voyeuristic sex, honestly not!

Stone outed himself as an evil crackpot years ago. How could you not have noticed?

Democrats have extremists like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib and Raphael Warnock. Republicans have Roger Stone (and probably a few others).

Because those Dems are also conspiracists, felons, and convicted liars?

Raphael Warnock is an extremist?

I can see someone not understanding Muslim women and labeling them extremists despite the fact they are not. But what's with Raphael Warnock?

Oh come now...the very fact that you had at some time "respect and regard" for this con artist aptly displays where you are coming from. What bugs you is that he really hasn't given you any "safe" avenue of defending him without revealing your innermost prejudices.
You also confirmed your actual prejudice in the very next sentence.

The Satanic Vortex is called the GQP, I warned them, in 2008 when I left that party the Ron Paul's Waco Whackos and conspiracy theorists would cause an Insurrection and possibly a Civil War, It just taking longer than I expected.

Liberal, Progressive, pro-LGBT rights, pro-Choice at cetera.
Obviously a dangerous communist extremist.

Here's the thing I find so ironic: Roger Stone has been a life-long political operative going back to Nixon. Technically, he's "deep state", but the MAGA/Qanon loons love him.

ALthough is role in the Nixon white house has been massively distorted by Stone. He was a minor leagus beginning flunkie, not the major player he makes himself out to be.

His role in the 2000 Florida recount would be hard to underestimate.

Presumably his association with Nixon is why they love him and his dirty tricks. They believe the Democrats to be evil bastards who will do anything to win, so they love it when one of their own hits back.

Hell, one could argue that Nixon's enemies list was an early version of the "deep state/swamp" theory, with Democratic politicians, news reporters and celebrities all working together in a massive conspiracy to kill off Nixon and his presidency, using any means necessary.

He's basically followed his old buddy Lee Atwater into the religious scam.
