I was watching the balloon, not the muppet in the background.

He distracted me from the balloon, which contained less hot air than he did.

I like balloons and did not consent to his spoiling of my balloon moment with his drivel.

Yet again, these followers of the freeman on the land movement have wasted the time and spoilt the goodwill of those who would help them. They actively seek conflict. They sit around in the evening smoking drugs and spoiling the positive contributions of those who have actually created the Occupation. They know that general assembly after general assembly has banned alcohol and drugs on site but they don’t care about the general assembly. They don’t care about anyone

That last sentence seems to sum up the whole FOTL movement.

This seems to be a subtle variation on what Myriad once termed a Masochistic Lie.

Masochistic Lie (n.) A lie that has absolutely no possibility of being believed, due to contradicting the immediate and direct experience of the person to whom it's addressed.

The Purpose of the Masochistic Lie

The nature of the Masochistic Lie becomes clearer when we look closer at whom a lie is actually directed at.

Consider the case of a false accusation against an individual. Except in rare circumstances involving diminished mental capacity or memory loss, every false accusation is a Masochistic Lie from the perspective of the person accused.

And yet, deliberate false accusations are common enough. There must be some point to them, some advantage for the liar to gain. And of course, there is. The lie of a false accusation is not actually directed at the accused. A false accusation will not convince anyone that they are guilty, if they are in fact innocent. (Again, barring diminished mental capacity, or deliberate additional measures to induce same, as in brainwashing.) But it may very well convince others whose judgment of guilt or innocence carries weight. That is the liar's goal. When you hear a Masochistic Lie, it is a near certainty that you are not the person actually being lied to. You might be the intended target or victim of the lie, but the lie is designed to convince someone else besides you.

In this case, Menard is actually lying to those he hopes are stupid enough to fall for his schtick. By now, he knows none of the regulars here will buy his BS, but he hopes a few lurkers might.

Can you show me a case where someone who does not have a SIN was found guilty of failing to file? Can you show me a case where someone was ordered to submit an application for a SIN and ordered to associate themselves with that number? Thought not.

One of the easiest examples is the benefit of paying taxes, which then in turn are used to fund things like infrastrure, such as the power grid which enables you to even be using that laptop, design things like the Internet which allows you to to be here spreading your crap, construction like that airport you weren't allowed to board at (how did that law suit you were going to file in that matter turn out?) ...

Heck, the judge's salary whom you used to govern JB without zir consent in the matter of that logo, and the salaries, equipment and training for the police force who were implicitly being used by you to enforce that judge's order.

How much were you planning on paying all of these people when you individually benefitted from their actions?

Oh, that's right: you can't hire someone to do what you yourself cannot do, so obviously you never filed suit against JB, and zie can go back to using your logo...

None of the things you mentioned require me to have a SIN and are not benefits associated with one. As a matter of fact, they are not even 'legal benefits'.

The proof of that is the fact that I am using the internet at the moment without one.

And you obviously have expanded the definition of 'legal benefit' to now include anything good or a 'convenience' not even built by those who impose taxes.

Nice try though.

So, care to answer my questions or merley try to avoid some more? :rolleyes:
