Nothing he has said he was going to do has ever happened.
He has lost his audience because he failed to move with the times and peddled the same arguments over and over even though they had been proved useless.
Maybe he will be back with a new approach at some point, but for now he's under a stone somewhere like any other snake.

I think this arises out of a fundamental flaw in the human mind, or at least the minds of a large number of humans. It seems that there are certain people who, despite having one example of a scam completely exposed, will turn around and fall for the next almost identical scam, figuring, "This time, it has to be real!"

We see examples of this in all sorts of woo. Here's a recent post I made on the latest "Cold Fusion" claims, pointing out how it's essentially the exact same thing as Blacklight Power's claims. Despite all those rather obvious similarities, this guy is convinced that the latest claims have merit, even though he dismissed BLP in an earlier post.

Also take a look at Randi's expose of Peter Popoff - About as comprehensively debunked as it's possible to be, and yet, Peter Popoff himself has come back with exactly the same shtick.

There are hundreds, maybe even thousands of similar examples.

Our brains are just broken, somehow.
 
FMOTLism is a different kind of wooism than most. Although it does share the "we have discovered the truth / You are all blind sheeple / paranoia" aspect that all other wooisms contain.

Woo-Type1: Moon Landing Hoax, Cold Fusion, The Queen is a Lizzard etc.
Essentially harmless Woo that just makes the Wooist look rather silly.

Woo-Type2: "Making Money off the Deluded Scams" e.g. Psychics, Scientology etc.
This is naughty Woo that I find despicable.

Woo-Type3: FMOTL-Woo.
A special Woo which, for some unfathomable reason, only attracts followers who fall into one of the following...
1/ Has broken the Law and been found out
2/ Has bought things they can not afford
3/ Wants the benefits of society but not to have to pay for them
4/ Wants to live on a Ranch and have a big cannon

Unfortunately Woo-Type3 also involves conmen like Menard taking money from people who are not only deluded and a bit silly, but people who are deluded, a bit silly and don't have any money. To further complicate matters Menard himself is also deluded and very silly.

When people are looking to shirk their responsibilities and blame others for everything that they have allowed to go wrong in their life along comes FMOTL to save the day.

"I was only speeding, I didnt hurt anyone"
"Money doesnt exist, they didnt give me anything of value so I don't have to give it back because they never suffered a loss"
"They sold on my mortgage document , so they got their money back, I don't owe anything"
"I dont like that law so I don"t consent to it because I have to pay etc,etc,etc
Not once have I seen a FMOTL believer take a look at themselves and say, "You know what, I'm going to do the right and honourable thing and clear the slate"

Its easy to sell up and go and live off the grid, there are loads of communes all over the world you can join up to and live the quiet life.

Its just that to do that is taking responsibility, and thats the last thing that people attracted to FMOTL are ever going to do.

I didn't steal anything from anybody. I'm just sitting in my house when Sky's signal came tresspassing onto my land. How *********** dare you accuse me of being a thief or a leech.

If somebody wanted to park thier car on your drive for an indefinite period of time, wouldn't you be entitled to charge them rent? Why is it any different for Sky's broadband signal?

The signal or electronic waves or whatever, is on my property without my consent, so surely i'm entitled to some remedy? And I have deemed that as compensation, i will be using that signal without charge.

Anyway, i'm back in business now, no thanks to you lot.

thats their mindset I'm afraid, I notice he was shot down by some others though, but you cant reason with numpties like the OP.

Its people like that they should ban from their sites if they want any credibility.

But... as JB pointed out this is their mindset unfortunately and there is nothing us mere mortals can do to convince fools that they are fools.

The interesting thing about the thread that mushy quoted from was that the op of that thread was asking for ways to break WEP encryption. He honestly believed that it was his god given right to ask for help to crack his neighbours WiFi security, which his neighbours probably only secured when they realised someone was using their broadband access and bandwidth for free. Could you make this stuff up? It's gobsmackingly stupid. Even his fellow FMOTL-mongers chastised him for being a thieving scumbag!

I meet people like this regularly in rl, they are the scum of the earth and imho their ancestory took a detour while the rest of us evolved.

Why thank you, I cant take all the credit of course... I had a few accomplices.
Ickes has now drifted into TPUC (a previous freeman site that was exposed) territory now Menards idiocy has been revealed in its entirety.
At least at the moment people are not trying to welch on their responsibilities.

I will pop in occasionally to keep Menard under his stone, I have a feeling he will be back at some point, he will just wait for the current crop of idiots to disappear and the new ones to arrive, if he pops up to sell his crazy Im sure someone will ask him about withdrawing consent ;)

Wow. The lengths that bozo goes to justify stealing bandwidth is bordering on sociopathic. Maybe the person upwind of him should light smoky, smelly fires if he doesn't pay them a fee for having his air come through their property.

Freeman Stephen is an interesting one in that thread, and others, on TPUC.

if you can afford it pay for it. if it costs you nothing to give it to the poor then better that than they sit getting fed crap on their television. unlock your wifi when you dont need the full bandwidth.

I bet if freeman stephen connected to it, and your friend took all his credit card information and went on a shopping spree. There would be nothing that stephen could do, i mean his signal did tresspass onto your friends computer and your friend was just chargining him for it as compensation.
 
How would he do that? leaving your router open to web access doesn't mean leaving your router open to allow access to your computer. Otherwise all those Costa Coffee shops and Premier Inns would be in a mess.
 
They can use a packet sniffer to view traffic going though your network. If someone was to leech your wifi and used it to buy something online for example. It could be possible to get CC info.
