Someone posted a couple of years ago about a group that claims this happened in 1861 when Congress adjourned after 11 states purported to have seceded from the Union, because Congress ceased to have a quorum, and permanently put itself out of business when it adjourned, because it couldn't lawfully fix a time to reconvene without a quorum.
This claim ignores two crucial facts: First, the number of Senators and Representatives in question constituted fewer than 1/3 of each chamber, and second, the time for Congress to meet each year is defined by the US Constitution.
Freemen pseudo-scholars cherry pick their way through history and law until they find something they think will help their cause.
Since the cult has no internal controls just about anything goes. As we have seen the crew is not above using made up case law language.
The basic tenets of freeman psuedo-law, IMHO, are:
1. All law is strictly contract law, thus allowing freemen to simply contract in and out of the legal system as needed.
2. The Supremacy Clauses of the constitutions of each western democracy are to be ignored thus allowing freemen to substitute their own made up brand of common law for established constitutional, statute and case law.
Developing or just repeating and presenting freeman law is a skill set that, if done well, can raise the individual freeman's status and even result in donations, speaker fees, free breakfasts, complimentary brews and bongs, and all the perks of freeman celebrity.

I have often joked about turning to he dark side - I think I could make a comfortable living as a pet psychic. But the clients of pet psychics do not hospitalize people or murder police1. I could not be a Freeman/Sovereign guru because if I read about that type of violence in the paper, I would know that I was part of a movement in which innocent people are injured or killed. ANd even if I could pretend that I was not tied to such violence, I could not look at all the people who ended up behind bars for doing things I told them to do and then enjoy the odd free breakfast or round of beers.

Freeman gurus, Menard and Clifford in particular, have convinced themselves that the harm their woo causes their followers is really the fault of the powers that be, judges, cops and bankers.
A few freemen like, Ben Lowry, have figured out that no matter how much the freeman subculture may wish their theories were valid, they are not.
I believe that for too many freemen and their gurus the woo they pitch is nothing more than a dysfunctional reconciliation of the problems they have had with authority figures since childhood.
For these self serving gurus an admission that their theories are the product of poor scholarship, sustained by group denial, would be akin to an honest appraisal of their life long failures.
Most of us can, with support, handle this sort of honesty. But when one has spent decades blaming everybody from daddy, to the hockey coach, to the traffic court judge for ones self made problems pathological denial becomes the rule.

I had often wondered why World Freeman Menard missed so many strategic moves that could have advanced the Freeman movement. You theory does provide a believable explanation for many of his actions.
Showing that same poor judgement our subject is now busy excusing his deficient scholarship and pathological denial of reality by pretending his debunkers support corruption and tyranny.
Leaving aside the irony of Mr. Menard, newly in the embrace of the Third Reich, assuming anyone who dares question him endorses corruption and tyranny, one is tempted to challenge our subject to provide one instance that proves his accusation.
In light of Bobby's spineless failure to prove his claim to be a peace officer, or answer any other question or challenge. . . why bother.

Menard should distance himself from FMOTL bearing in mind the route it seems to be taking.

Nazism doesn't at all, match up with the WFS general statements of love, universal acceptance and freedom.
Menard wouldn't have to play the hated enforcer role to nip the growing fotl/nazi movement in the bud. Had he a spine all he'd have to do is repeat the cult's "mission statement" and point out that racial hatred isn't part of the plan.
I suspect his problem is that the source of the nazi propaganda is the site administrator, one of the doers in the fotl cult, the couch sitting Menard duped into doing the actual work.
Now the ole boy's gone off the reservation.
If that's the case, with the fotl cult teetering on the edge of madness and irrelevance there isn't anything Menard can do about it.
