Riviera Room Rants

Ok, to make matters worse for skeptigirl we sat together for most of Saturday and at other times during TAM. And besides my being sick, every once is a while I snuck out for a smoke. I didn’t smoke much, but as she rightfully pointed out, because she could smell what I had done, I shouldn’t have been smoking at all. She was so right. She is, after all, a nurse practitioner. I am much sicker now then I was at TAM. I should have listened. I will recover in a few days, however. The doctor seems confident of that prognosis.

So really, I am here, cap in hand, saying sorry to skeptigirl for putting up with me. She could have moved. But then, I wouldn’t have enjoyed her company and her comments, which really meant something to me… We go way back at SFN.

Sorry for the short hijacking of this thread…
You're sweet.

I am really sorry your illness has worsened. I may start a thread on smoking. I was floored by how many people I saw from TAM smoking. I don't know how many were forumites. Someone certainly used up all the non-smoking rooms. But who knows, maybe there really weren't many NS rooms there.

I booked a smoking room, which didn't stink. It was on the 10th floor and the window opened ALL THE WAY! WOOHOO!

I did take exception to the sheets though - or more likely whatever cheap 'detergent' they used to was them in. Ooh, did it do a number on my skin. Not quite a rash, mind you, but it certainly put the 'ire' in 'irritation'.

*opens self up for all sorts of derisive and pervers responses*

Our room was freakin' awesome... extremely comfortable bed, not a hint of smokey odor anywhere on the entire floor, absolutely no sounds from any other rooms.

OK, we weren't at the Riv, but hey.

The shower head in my room was at the level of my shoulder. I had to risk throwing out my back to wash my hair.

That was really the only problem I had with the room I was in too. Surprisingly, the cheapo-rooms in the Monaco tower didn't have that problem.

Of course, I had arrived in Vegas on Tuesday, and was able to get everything I "requested", even though what I had requested didn't seem to make much of a difference, because I was asked all those questions again when checking in.

I checked in on Tuesday too, but I got a smoking room when I had "requested" a non-smoking room.

It seems like you had two choices in rooms: Stinky, or Tiny. Every non-smoking room I was in was very small compared to my Stinky room.

Oh, and every wall thermometer I saw had the "get service up here NOW" exclamation-point-in-a-triangle symbol flashing on it. Every one. Even the one in my room. But since I didn't mind the temperature, I didn't get service up there now.

I had a large non-stinky non-smoking room. Of course I arrived Sunday and probably got the only one in the hotel.
