No one has any comment on the lack of co-ordination between the Justice Department and Homeland Security?

Wasn't this the main lesson we were supposed to have learned after 9/11 (agencies should share information)?

Coordination between departments is driven from above. That means the vaunted CEO leadership abilities of the President ... uh ... nevermind.
 
The only comment I would have is that I'm amazed that anyone thought that the creation of DHS would solve the intelligence sharing problem. These agencies have always been on the same team and always reported to the same person. None of that stopped the infighting, so how could another layer help?
 
What I noticed was the hooplah, Ashcroft front and center, over the seemingly small-time bust of the islamist guy in Britian.
 
Even John McLaughlin raised the question of whether the terror threat announcement was for political purposes.
Should we trust the intelligence of a department that "accidentally" mismatched fingerprints to a Muslim attorney half way around the world?
