Rick Perry heckled in Iowa for demonizing gays

although i am extremely critical of the american extreme right, represented by several posters in this forum, i am also thankful that america seems to have a strong voice of reason, also represented by several posters in this forum.
this article from iowa also gives me hope that america has more sense than i sometimes give her credit for.

AMES, Iowa — Texas Governor and GOP presidential hopeful Rick Perry was met by hecklers during a campaign stop in Ames, Iowa on Sunday, continuing to catch heat for an anti-gay campaign ad released last week in which he said that gays serving openly in the military is a sign of what’s wrong with America.
 
The hecklings will only help Perry with the Iowa caucus goers. A politically stupid thing to do.

Not really. Perry has no chance of winning Iowa (or anywhere else). This is for the national audience, and overall, Americans are against discrimmination based on sexual orientation.

Perry may come in fourth in Iowa but will continue his campaign thanks to the millions given to him by the Jews to defeat Romney.

Paranoid conspiracy theories aside, this incident is not going to help him win or raise funds.
 
Perry's folks might have been told that Ames was a "safe" place to talk trash about the homos. Ames is the home of Iowa State University, and is often caricatured as being less enlightened than Iowa City, home of the State University of Iowa. Perry's camp may have been informed that he would be wasting his time in Iowa City, but he might find a more sympathetic group in Ames.

Unfortunately, that caricature (like all caricatures) is not an accurate picture, though it has some truth in it.

Ames tends to be more old-fashioned, but that doesn't mean that everyone in Ames is old-fashioned. The 2010 vote notwithstanding (in which Iowans, in a rare act of petulance and stupidity, voted out three good supreme court justices because of one ruling with which they disagreed largely without reading it), Ames has some pretty smart folks in it, and they ain't all ivory tower liberals, neither. They recognize bigotry for what it is. And they don't have a taste for swaggering Texas loudmouths who enable it.

While I believe that the ad is profoundly stupid and wrong, I remain skeptical that hecklers of any stripe indicate "a strong voice of reason".

They recruited Perry to keep Romney from the nomination. At the time Gingrich was polling the same with Santorum and Bachmann, two other fanatical Zionists. They bet big on Perry initially only to discover he was an idiot in the debates. Then the Jews leaked the info on Cain to the media to pull Gingrich up into first place. Now the Jews are financing the Gingrich campaign.

Recently on The McLaughlin Group, John McLaughlin asked Mortimer Zuckerman indirectly why the Jews were not backing Romney.

It's amazing how they can stay so rich given their profligate throwing of money at everyone.
