Richard Gage comes to Europe

Is there a possibility one of the members of this forum are planning to attend one of Gage's appearances, providing it's within close proximity of your residence? It would make for very interesting discussion (unless someone has already done so). Then again, could it be money well spent? I suppose it would be a personal decision.

A few of us have been to his shows. I've personally been to two and have talked to him. ;)

Thanks. I figured "concessions," but it didn't make sense to me. Over here, concessions are where you get a hot dog and a coke.

Delft, well then the people at that university certainly will understand that fire alone cannot bring a steel structure down! Certainly not small fires such as if a coffee machine overheated and caught fire.

Speaking of Delft: Got details for that now:

16 April 2015, 20:00 - 22:30 @ Aula Auditorium

This is listed by the Studium Generale TU Delft - an office, apparently, that sponsors a debate club under the roof of the Technical University.
The Aula Auditorium may be the central auditorium at the uni!

It's 2:15 hours driving for me. I am weakly considering a trip, but returning well after midnight before a Friday doesn't appeal much. :boggled:

Has he changed his dog and pony blueprint for truth presentation? If not it's probably on you tube. Of course if you want to meet the man... by all means...

He's going to Delft?! Isn't this where a module of a large steel reinforced concrete building collapsed straight down at a fast rate of speed due to fire alone? I wonder what he'll say to them about the absolute resistance of tall buildings with steel in them to collapse in fire.

Yes, that's the place. It was the Delft Technical University's department of civil engineering buildung, and Gage is gonna speak on campus!
And I am almost tempted to go there. I am in contact with a Dutch truther... but right now I lean towards "not worth it". I'd be back home too late, or would have to stay overnight.

You have to ask youreslf why you're almost tempted. If you think you can ask questions during the show, think again. He screens all questions. If you just want to meet him, that will happen. He's very open to talking and meeting people after the show. Don't expect him to answer any questions that he feels uncomfortable with. If you appear to be a skeptic you will be shadowed by some of the crew that will make sure you don't disrupt his act.

One fun thing to note. When he does his hand counts to prove his effectiveness. There is no real count. Both times I saw him I emailed him the much smaller (actual) numbers and he did correct them.

DGM, you sum up quite nicely the reasons why I think it's hardly worth it. I don't kid myself into believing I'd be the first to plant real doubts in Gage's mind.

What would be more interesting, besides the sheer curiosity to see real life truthers that's of the sort that also makes me visit a zoo once in a while, would be to check out if any of the engineering faculty and students of the University show up, and what they think. Chat up other visitors. And invite said truther that I am in contact with to a beer.

You'll find no engineering professionals and you will see people leave as the night progresses. The audience is friends of "truthers" and all but the faithful leave by the end of the show. The attendance is small and is always smaller at the end.

If you can endure to the end they usually move to a local bar. I had a fleeting idea to just keep buying rounds and seeing what happened. The GF called and my priorities changed. :D
