They are or were... But... it's somewhat understandable. Gage has no experience in anything remotely related to political organizing or advocacy, fund raising etc. He was off and running before he read the rule book.
Now most people jumping into the public's awareness and the IRS as well might think....whoa..I need to get some advice here and do this right. How do you set up a non profit advocacy group to lobby for something, raise money and so forth? There are books about such things! Sort of How To... Self help kinda things.
Gage had none of it. He was off and running with his idea and new career and aware of all the anger to exploit for volunteer work and then donations to support his organization and pay his bloated salary and every expense he has.. including his rent!
Most around him simply trust that he's an above board stand up guy who says what he does, does what he says, is a consummate pro... you know Richard Gage AIA... (AIA is probably pissed off big time and want little to nothing to do with him... witness they refused to let him use their headquarters in SF for his 1000 press event. Smart move. But transparent effort on his side to use the appeal to authority ruse.. Look we're associate with real architects the AIA.
It's a cult and cults rarely follow the rule book... they just go after idiots.
Did the "go after idiots only" policy apply before or after you joined?
