Republicans Whining Again!

Gee, you could have just said "politicians whining again", since both sides do it in equal amounts. I find partisans from both sides equally repugnant, whiny, and only interested in playing one-up-manship with each other, and care not one whit for what is right, good and needed for America, just what can make the other side look bad.
Thanks for confirming my low opinion of y'all!

God, I thought was the only one on this forum who could see the idiocy the BOTH sides indulge in.

No, you're just one of the only ones that feel the need to state that the other side does it too every time a criticism is brought up. :p

... or who thinks that tu quoque is any sort of justification.

The only thing I would add to your response would be to remove the smiley, because it's actually serious.

Eh, I've rarely found that dudalb uses an actual tu quoque argument because he's not trying to get either action excused, but draw attention to both as wrong.

The GOP should just stop bitching and pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Hell, that's what they tell everyone else to do ;)

Btw, if the GOP doesn't take back either house of Congress (which seems pretty likely if you look at the prediction markets), then I wonder if they'll do a double take and reconsider this strategy of playing to the looniest of the hard right-wing loons within their ranks?

I certainly hope so, because, honestly, I'd like to see more moderate Republicans (read: Scott Brown) in Congress to balance out the crazy in the GOP and provide some realistic counter-balance to the Dems.

If not, then the GOP had better get used to minority status.

I really thought the defeat in 2008 would bring the Republican Party back to sanity. Instead, it seems to have had the opposite effect. If they continue the way they are going, they will go the way of the Federalists and the Whigs, and be replaced by a rational center-right party. If they exist at all, they will be about as influential as the Libertarian and Prohibition Parties.

Yeah, that's right.
All the Republicans should be rounded up and shot as traitors, because they don't give a damn about the country.

I think the accusation might have carried more weight if a right-wing pundit hadn't already written a best-selling book titled "Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism."

Hey- If liburlz perjured themselves when they took the Oath of Office as you folk know the Republicans have, they, too, should be rounded up and shot for treason.
ETA: You do know all this to be factual, don't you? That they lied taking the Oath of Office? I'd hate to assume anything...

I personally do not consider the Republicans nor the Democrats to have lied while taking the oath of office. I was merely pointing out that when it comes to one side calling the other traitors, Coulter's side got off the first shot.

You guys are so full of **** it bleeds into my computer. Stinky.
wasn't that what Republicans said during the Bush administration?

As for bipartisanship, it was less than 60 days ago that Obama announced he was in favor of offshore drilling, which was a plank in the 2008 Republican presidential platform. He was immediately criticized by several Republicans. Obama does what they want and they still can't bring themselves to agree with him.

"Well-You guys did it first!"

Great debate. Keep it up.

Sorry-It's fuelair and puppycow who have the knowledge that the "uphold the Constitution" part of the oath is where the current Republicans lied.
Waiting for confirmation
BTW-has anybody EVER seen a politician of ANY stripe who didn't consider his #1 priority to be "getting re-elected"?

That's odd; that's pretty much the Republican message I remember from the Bush Jr years.

Maybe they're just projecting.

And they would probably ask you, if you posted this on the Free Republic, Who is Bush Jr anyway?

You were using hyperbole to illustrate the absurdity of a position. I cited Coulter to show that right-wing pundits literally wrote the book on such accustations. It's not just the other side did it first, it is a matter of a prominent member other side actually got rich doing it and no one in the party she supports ever accused her of going to far or being unfair. There is a difference between a couple of anonymous posters on an obscure message board ranting without evidence and respected and quoted political commenators (add R. Limbaugh to the list) doing the same thing.
