Only the actual election for a political office needs to be "fair". Parties are free to select their candidates however they want.
That's ridiculous. Why does only the general election need to be fair? And never challenged a party's right to how they select their candidate. I challenged how they did it.
The Republicans have a preference for "winner take all" primaries because it decreases the chance that there will be a fight over the nominee at the national convention.
Not my only complaint. The distribution in non winner all states in all over the place too.
I have trouble classifying the USA as a democracy. IMHO, it is better described as being a two-party state.
Actually it's a democracy in a Republic.
And there are more than two parties. But, it's up to the parties to make themselves viable. Equality of opportunity exists, but not equality of outcome.
