Mostly harmless
This, of course, is a reason that therapies like naturopathy make so little - a lack of willingness to question. Much of "alternative medicine" is little more than a snapshot of the state of medical knowledge at some point in the past.

I agree 100%. so why is it when a natural health person questions a doctor they are wrong? considered a quack but patients are allowed to question? Why is it anti-vax people are quacks for questioning pharma?

As to the OP: I'd change my doctor. Simple as that. Unfortunately, we live in a crazy world where such a blatant display of incompetency won't cost him his job - any chance and I'd go after that, too. Since that is not possible, vote with your feet.

They can question as much as they want. They don't get to make garbage up like naturopaths and anti-vaxxers do.
They are not questioning pharma. They are questioning reality. They are not questioning anything, they are making things up.

There is nothing wrong with questioning any person in health care, whether it be a professional like an MD, or someone like a Naturopath.

Jin Bu Huan poisons a surprising number of people. Other natural herbs contain mercury or arsenic or other toxins. It's a fallacy to assume a substance is safe simply because it happens to be natural.

The distinction is between a pseudo science and real science. Naturopaths do not employ the scientific method.

It is sometimes amazing to me what doctors and other health care professionals think is medicine.
I once had a doctor who took some of the old wives' tales of the "put egg yolk on your hair to give it volume and lemon juice to give it shine", "don't eat an hour before swimming", "don't eat before bed or you won't burn the calories" variety to be actual science.
My aunt is a pharmacist and she wouldn't believe me when I told her that adult can get acne. She was adamant that only teenagers can get them.
And a person I was once friends with said that when she was undergoing treatment for cysts, her doctors told her she should keep on doing yoga for it and seeing a faith healer.
To be fair, the last one could have been a misunderstanding. Maybe she told them she was doing this stuff and they humored her/shrugged it off/sighed and said something to the effect of "well, whatever you want to do is ok"/ figured that if it kept up her spirits it was fine and told her go ahead and she took it for actual approval.

They are not quacks for questioning Pharma. They are quacks for their evidenceless based accusations and theories. Questioning NEVER makes you a quack.

I have not taken this thread anywhere. I have merely followed it as everyone else has.
I really suggest you read the Membership Agreement. This thread has been clearly derailed from one about the referral by a doctor of my daughter to a quack (and it has been reported). Please start your own thread
Thanks for the thought (and Lucian as well). Believe it or not, she missed the neurologist appointment. It was the right date but wrong weekday or something, and she had to make another appointment in the new year.
