Red Envelope Day to protest abortion

Yeah right, since when does anything having to do with abortion not inevitably turn into a debate about abortion? Your best bet would probably be to either start the new thread yourself or ask the mods to split this one.

Yay! Twins!

Seriously, though, I read through the entire thread and I'm still not sure how the OP relates to Religion and Philosophy. Would somebody please be so kind as to spell it out for me?

I think it relates to religion in that the people behind the whole red envelope thing are religiously motivated pro-lifers.

Not going to happen

But there wasn't anything inside the envelopes. And what exactly does "offer to the world" mean? What does any person "offer to the world"? :boggled:
Could you please say what you mean instead of spouting Hallmark cliches.

Hallmark to Kathy is like Faulkner to you and me.

I still would like a response to the question of when the zygote, embryo or fetus becomes a human being. Again, if it's at conception then from 66% to 80% of all human beings exist as either single cells or collections of undifferentiated cells for a period of a month or less.

Bear in mind also that assertions that a fertilized ovum is a human being carry a socio-political agenda: Many birth control pills prevent a fertilized egg from implanting. Thus, anti-choice activists assert that birth control is a form of abortion. Make no mistake: the ultimate goal of this movement is to control other peoples' sex lives.

Sorry for the jerky response. :( But this part rubbed me the wrong way:

because I'm the one who started this thread.

I hadn't bothered to ask for a split since it was a niche thread anyway and died until getting bumped the other day.

Quite alright, I probablly could have phrased it better.

It was just a suggestion, what I meant was you could start a new thread about abortion in hopes that they would all leave this one and go to that one. You didn't have to give this one up, not at all what I was suggesting.
