Recovering (US) dollar

What SaulOhio appears to mean is that if the dollar is climbing (and thus not being debauched) then some price or other must be falling in dollar terms (even if it is only the value of the euro perhaps). Then SO gets to cry "deflation" and claim that this is the inevitable result of the earlier hyperflationary debauchment. A win every time for the conspiracy!

Oh, I know that. I just wanted to point out to any onlookers --- yes, I've given up hope on SaulOhio --- that even in Bizarro world, his reasoning would seem specious. In the real world, it punches all the way past specious up to an outright lie.

Wait so the truthers were wrong about the dollar being doomed forever, and that we had to sell all our stocks and convert our money into gold? So I don't have to move out of the country? Sweet. :D

*searches for something that has fallen more than the dollar*

Nonsense, it's soaring against the SA rand ;) (Actually not doingbad against the Aussie and Kiwi dollars too)

So in your view, will the dollar ever reach its prime again/soon, or will continue to sink... and sink.... and sink..... and ... -poof- :p

I was just wondering if the the dollar would continue to degrade in value in the coming years. I'm rather new at this.

I was attempting to portray "poof" as the disappearance of the dollar's value.

Who are you calling Shirley?

The dollar just went down again, along with and because of Lehman Bros.

Up and down like a gigolo's bum.

As the bank I have my life's savings in seems about to go down the tubes, I'd just like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, in case they cancel my direct debit to my ISP tonight.
What the hell. It only took 30 years working.
Easy come, easy go.

Therein lies the rub. Economies go up and down - even the Zimbabwean economy will eventually improve. However, a lot of people see their life savings, pensions, houses etc., go down the tubes on the way to that recovery. The World economy will always bounce back because people have to eat, live in houses and aspire to better things but in the interim people lose.

Easy to say, hard to actually have to live through.

So far things are okay here with me but I do feel for the folks who are in the thick of things.
