Found this sig line on a Rapture Ready forum today.....didn't know whether to laugh or cry...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I think we Christians should look at this world as being a filthy restroom at a roadside gas station. Fate has brought us here, we try to touch as little of it as possible while doing our business, we hope to leave quickly, and we don’t ever plan on coming here again until it's under better management."

They are going to be SO bitterly disappointed when they are about to die, and they realise what they COULD have and SHOULD done with their time here...

Rapture Ready...yeah.

I read couple of posts there, and I don't know...

When these people log in to that site, it's like they forgot to log in
their brains with them...

I got sick to my stomach.... These RR people are very unique congregation.

So that's where that nasty smell came from!!! :D ;)

 I've only been to the RR website briefly a couple of times and got "creeped" out by what was said (the above quote, too) - and I'm a Xian! I don't get it. We're here; we should have joy and life, not bitterness and a sense of forboding...ewwww

A dirty roadside bathroom? Shouldn't they at least try cleaning it up or something?

what a "novel" idea. Making this world a better place while we're here...

If they waiting for God to clean the place up, maybe they think they don't have to. Kind of like a really spoiled child who knows that mom and dad will always pick up the dirty towels.

Well, I guess that makes their God a seedy roadside restroom janitor who dosn't do his job. I guess it suits them.

Reminds me of a TV series where heaven was a bath house and god was the janitor who ran it.

A telefilmed version of the play Steambath:
This unique play presents the afterlife as a steam bath, in which dead souls continue to obsess about the same petty concerns that obsessed them in their lives, until they are cast into a dark void by God, the Puerto Rican attendant (José Pérez). But new arrival Tandy (Bill Bixby) at first refuses to accept what's happened, and when he finally does, he pleads to be allowed to return to his life. Steambath was controversial in its day for its obscene language (which was softened for this filmed version, originally presented on PBS), its satirical take on religion, and some brief nudity by bombshell Valerie Perrine. Today it's still very entertaining, but mostly as a core sampling of the surprisingly uncensored male attitudes from the dawn of the 1970s. Everyone gives a solid performance and Bixby's easy charm makes his self-centered character sympathetic.

Sounds like the Christian thing to do. Perhaps we could all set a good example for others. :)

Sounds like the human thing to do.

Just read the posts in this thread

This first post is very disturbing: It shows how much power fundy xians have over Bush. The last line in that first post is worse...If anyone wants to know why RR is so scary, it's because these people have INFLUENCE on international politics.

Of course, they're too dense to see that themselves, they just think it's because of only their religion.

Though this post is kind of funny:

To new lurkers (and posters)
If you have come to this website seeking 'bonkers' people, we hope you will take the time to actually READ a Bible before judging us. Also, please look at the prayers thread and the We That Struggle threads.

We're not 'bonkers'. We are Christians who are people who are JUST LIKE YOU! We get angry, we hurt, we have fears, but we also know the LOVE of Jesus Christ.
<~~"Just like us"?? Yeah, right. As far as I know, we don't get attacked by "demonic forces" like some of your members. Some of the stuff in the "We that Struggle" forum is what makes you look so bad!
I am in no ways a Rapture or Bible expert but there are A LOT of people on this board who have YEARS of experience teaching God's Word.

Please take the time to ask questions. Someone will give you an answer (in fact, I'm quite sure you will get several answers!).

If you're hurting, we will also pray with you and for you.

However the route you came here, we're glad you're here.
At least she seems nice, until of course, someone disagrees with them and doestn't change their mind!
