Randi on Anderson Cooper 360

I really would like Montel Williams and other apologists taken to account for his silence and his giving air time abd "credibility" to her. In the Uk We obviously don't get the same coverage etc but is a high profile show like Oprah out of the question in raising the profile of the issue? Could a charm offensive with Randi or another doing a few hot and cold callings or other tricks then get onto the challenge help? Entertainment then onto the serious stuff.
Or smoke out some high profile hosts who might be sympathetic . Oh for Johnny Carson....

Just my two penneth...

I yield to no man in my admiration for Randi's work, and I found him quite charming in person when I met him briefly many years ago.

But face it, he has not been charming when on AC. He looks angry, or at least annoyed, even before he starts talking.

Who do we get for a charm offensive? Well, Richard Dawkins is evidently out, too.

Penn Gillette? Uh, no, I don't think so...

Face it, skeptics tend to be a sarcastic, curmudgeonly bunch. The two most charming I can think of - Johnny Carson and Carl Sagan - are, sadly, no longer among us.

Yknow , it's not the same subject but Dr Jonathan Miller - made IMHO a far superior and thoughtful BBC progam about atheism than "Root of Evil" ever was, called "A Brief History of disbelief" -
in which he also interviewed Dawkins.

I have a lot of time for Miller's approach. Rare - sometimes personal but really intelligent programme making.

And he's good on talk shows too....

Have you seen The Atheism Tapes?

I have been trying to get people to watch A Brief History of Disbelief as well, and yes it is far superior.

The Atheism Tapes is a series of 6 episodes(30min each) of interviews that didn't make it into A Brief History of Disbelief.

Very good.
