Again with the same fallacy. Maybe you should try a new one, this one is played out. The existence of a tiny number of non-conforming edge cases doesn't change the validity of a generalization. "Liberals are the true bigots" is old hat, try a new tune.

But to answer the fallacy, a liberal mindset isn't a homophobic one, as a generality. Acceptance/tolerance of the Other is a defining feature of the liberal mindset, just like fear/hatred of the Other is a defining feature of the conservative mindset.

Homophobia may exist among a few who describe themselves as liberals, but it's an inherently conservative view, and endemic to those who describe themselves as conservatives, even those who insist that they have "gay friends". (After all, some of their best friends are...) Not everyone applies their generalized worldview to each individual case, as has been discussed ad nauseum in various threads already.

But of course, humans are complex, and can apply liberal or conservative mindsets in many ways individually, however consistent they tend to be as groups. But you knew that, right?

If you don't like people pointing out how stupidly broad the topic is, don't use such a broad brush to paint half your country.

Perhaps you should re-read the thread so you understand what it's about.

Oh, and it's significantly less than half right now.

And I'm still waiting for someone to define "political" conservatism as something other than fiscal or social conservatism.
