Kind of a personal question.

Just wondering which of his policy you agree with and if comfortable why?

People are saying tgry are the best policies, just the best, trust me on this.

What's in it for me if I answer?

Is this going to be a thread where we debate policy proposals (such as they are) sincerely and in good faith?

Or is it just going to be Yet Another Trump Bashing Thread? With all the snark and ill will that goes with it?

Because I could share what I think, and why. But this isn't my first rodeo. I've seen how these threads go. Before I go to the trouble, I'd like to see an indication of something other than prurient interest in anything a "Trump supporter" might have to say.

Well, his personal views and policies are pretty indefensible, so I can see how tough it must be to support him. He's the single most un-American candidate, the single most insane, the least intelligent, most offensive and unqualified person to ever try to win the office.

His surrogates are conspiritards and white nationalists.

But yea, lets hear his good points!

What policy do you actually object to.

I was reading Trump's positions and find them incomplete and populist.

About immigration I would gladly leave the wall unbuilt and the borders percolating, but incarcerate for 5 years those who hire an illegal alien to mow the lawn or clean the house and I would incarcerate for 10 years those who hire them as workers in factories, shops and farms.

But this wouldn't attract votes for him: voters are against illegal immigration, not against illegal work. They ideally want to have the market emptied of Mexicans and hire blondes to mow the lawn for coins.

I'm seriously against both illegal immigration and worker exploitation.

Another common mistake is thinking that, as Trump has few serious carefully thought positions to propose in this campaign, Clinton does. The candidates' positions are as wanting as the candidates themselves. And as both were selected in primaries the only conclusion available is a wanting public. And what would be the result? Pretty wanting, I guess.

I object to his proposal to build a wall across the border with Mexico. It was his first policy statement and he hasn't backed off of it.

Defenders, defend away. Stand atop Trump's Mighty Wall and shoot your pointy arrows of factual defense for such a powerful tool of foreign policy.

It will provide you the opportunity to portray a Trump supporter as someone other than a reactionary alt-right angry middle-aged white guy.

The value of effort in maintaining an existing cultural identity exceeds the cost.

I'm not a supporter of that notion, but why do you have so much trouble identifying a justification that you need to ask a Trump supporter?

Let's be honest. We would really like to see an intellectual defense of Trumpism. But Trumpism is by very nature an emotional response to insufficient information filtered by a bias of Priviledge. So we won't see an intellectual response of any kind, frankly from anyone, because the forum should be renamed " Irritable **** heads Forum, a place to argue about stupid minutia forever".

I came for the Stundies and frankly that's pretty much all that keeps me here - y'all are characters in a webcomic that updates hundreds of times a day.

I am just asking a question. As an outsider I am genuinely interested

I'm sure you can take any one of his policies and construct both good and bad arguments for them. The real question is what can be said about how many of the supporters favor which argument. You won't get that asking a couple people on a forum.

That shouldn't stop supporters sticking up for him

It actually should. Pollsters and researchers do not debate their subjects.

Of you start with "just wondering" and sense of curiosity but actually want to debate them, it is an unethical trap.

Only if you aren't prepared to validate his policies

He's a man of his word, unlike Crooked Hillary. He will always tell us the truth. Hillary for Prison, Trump for Emperor of Planet Rape.
