Question about pet breeding.

May I introduce you to Caramel?

26 of the damn things, and knows how to use them.

Though I do take your point it was probably carelessness rather than polydactyly.

Rolfe.

I almost added that the Siamese cat in the book was not a polydactyl.

What a sweet little face Caramel has, and adorable little massive feet.

Do you have lots of polydactyl cats? They are so cool! with as many as Caramel has, they start having opposable toes and that makes for some serious mischief.

I would love to have a polydactyl kitten, but so far haven't crossed paths with one when we and it were both available.

It sounds like just the kind of bollocks the kennel club would perpetuate...the only organisation in the world that still subsribes to ludicrous Victorian notions of 'blood purity' that were discredited for everyone else 50 years ago and more.

Hybrid Vigour 4tw.

Some 20 years ago when I briefly dabbled with cat clubs and cat breeding I recall this nonsense being peddled. One case I recall was a breeder who got rid of one of her queens because she had gotten out and had kittens to a moggy!!!:().

And no, before anyone generously ascribes this attitude to the possibility of some acquired illness (feline aids etc) - it was before such concerns were even known and was attributed directly to the belief that she could not breed "true" after the accident.
