Did he have sex with them or try to? Is that your standard for the repetition of the Creepy Uncle Joe meme? 'Cuz no one, to my knowledge, has even hinted that Biden was making sexual advances. The complaint is that he's just plain out of touch (or "out of touchy-feely") with standard public behavior and how it's shifted in the last fifty years.

You derailed your own thread with the Biden Meme and are now applying a double standard? Something's amiss, here.

I think you'll find the way it works is this:

Allegation -> police charge -> court hearing -> conviction -> jail.

The trail with Trump stops at the first of those.

Neil de Grasse Tyson & Brett Kavanaugh had allegations against them, but since neither was charged, far less found guilty, it doesn't seem to have done them any harm.

No, it was me being wrongly hyperbolic: mea culpa. Fair point to you for picking it up.

A better way of putting it would have been "Did he touch any of them inappropriately?"

I'm pretty sure that claim isn't made for the dressing room incident, so there isn't any possible criminal behaviour there, unlike Creepy Joe. Rubbing your hands over a female's breast area, whether developed or not, is sexual assault.

I would be completely unsurprised if one of the Trump PACs will has at least one woman waiting for Biden to win the nomination - assuming that happens - before unleashing actual charges against him.

Whether or not you consider it "damning", it's an indication that your statement that "Trump has only molested women over the age of consent" may be incorrect.

He's also been reported as saying that he was more sexually attracted to Ivanka than his wife, when Ivanka was 13. And there was a case that it's hard to find again because the relevant search terms are pulling up articles about Epstein's relationship with Trump, where Trump publicly said about a group of 8 year old girls that if they were a little older he'd be their boyfriend which, at the very least, indicates that he thinks of young girls in that manner.

Nothing that's stuck, certainly, but there should be enough there to want to add a "that we know of for sure" to the end of your statement.

I don't see any need to do that. Like I said, the burden of proof is on the prosecution.

Mate, I'd love to see the slimy skunk behind bars for raping underage girls, and you could double how happy I'd be if they managed to put that piece of ****, Prince Andrew, in the cell next door.

True, but law school is the traditional start to a career that ends up at the top of the legal profession. I can think of a few members of the Senate who might choose to uphold that tradition.

You put the allegations with the "Access Hollywood" video and the other creepy things he's done with women, there's a segment of the population you can spin it into truth for. It's a short step in the minds of most people from walking in on naked girls at Teen USA to underage sex. Stay on message well enough and it becomes holy writ.

Nobody is being prosecuted for anything.

Still, you're free to commit yourself to absolute statements of certitude in the face of doubt, if you like. Speaking personally, if there are multiple, credible, independent reports of someone indulging in certain kinds of behaviour then I won't absolutely rule that behaviour out as a possibility, and I will frame my statements accordingly.

What multiple reports are you talking about?

In terms of Trump & underage women, there is nothing more than rumour, with one withdrawn allegation.

I'm not ruling it out; I just don't see any evidence worth considering.

Why would we want a resolution of the question? It's much better as an open question running through the election. It doesn't have to be true; it just has to siphon off independent voters in three states. Trump can deal with the allegations, true or not once he's out of office. The ends justify the means.

Who cares as long as people keep considering it? What does it matter if any of it is true or not? Tie the allegation to the "Access Hollywood" tape, and the walking in on Miss Teen USA contestant in the dressing room and you're good. Actually proving it happened isn't the point. You convince 10,000 people spread across three states that it might have happened and you've only got 90,000 to go and you win the electoral college. Hype the incest charge with his daughters and maybe you've got 20,000 undecided voters. It's okay if it's not true. It just has to sway swing voters in three states.

There have been more reported incidents of Trump sexualising children posted in just the last few posts. That you'd dismiss Trump's own statements as "rumour" is mind-boggling.

You're obviously getting a tad confused. Trump's own words relate to women, not children, and the "reported incidents" in the posts are nothing but rumour.

I've looked back through the last 20 posts (more than "the last few") and all I see is:

Hardly sexual. Creepy Joe seems to talk about boyfriends to little girls a lot. I see that as the kind of thing any old bloke might say - he's telling little girls they're pretty, which is hardly damning by any metric.

Then we're left with walking in on teenagers getting changed. None molested - he walked into a dressing room. Creepy, sure, but no relation to sexual assault.

I love the way Trump's opponents fall straight into the Trump Derangement Syndrome trap. You'll have him as President until Queen I is ready to take over. 2024 looks good to me. I bet she has Jared as Veep.

What you need to do is concentrate on what he's actually done rather than what you wish you could hang him with.

Except for when he bragged about walking into the changing rooms of teenage girls, and said that he'd like to be the "boyfriend" of a couple of 8 year old girls, and said that he found his 13 year-old daughter more sexually attractive than his wife.
