Merged Qatar scandal/GCC nations cut ties with Qatar

So Tillerson is calling for the end of the blockade while Teh Donald is bragging about causing it? Hahahaha.

Makes me wonder how such a moron became president.

U.S. Sells Billions in Arms to Qatar After Trump Calls It ‘Funder of Terrorism’

Last week, President Donald Trump called Qatar “a funder of terrorism at a very high level” and said it was time for the Gulf state to end that funding. Trump claimed he decided this along with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and his “great generals and military people,” which did not seem at all likely, given that Tillerson was still trying to work damage control from Trump’s tweets earlier that week, which appeared to have him siding with the Saudi-led coalition in the blockade of a country that hosts the forward headquarters of U.S. Central Command, a base that makes possible U.S. regional operations in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.

If it were up to me, I would impeach Trump on the basis of being such an idiot and mentally handicapped.

So Qatar has been granted an additional 48 hours to fulfill the impossible conditions.

Here's an interesting Iranian view on the whole thing which contained some ah-ha's for me and might blow a mind or two of BBC/CNN products.

The deputy clown prince doesn't have many options now if he wants to keep face. Can he be successfully baited into invading Qatar like Saddam was baited into invading Kuwait? With the result of the whole "international community" (maybe with the exception of the Brits and Israelis) turning against the dark age penguins? Will Teh Donald release at least 28 pages?

AAAND loss of face it is. Ultimatum with extension expired, nothing happened. The Saudi king who had already famously rented a whole luxury hotel in Hamburg for the G20 meeting has canceled his visit. b thinks he fears leaving the country as a coup might be imminent after this additional embarrassment.

Seing Saudi Arabia/UAE claim that Qatar supports islamist terrorists is priceless... :D

I'm seeing a lot of newspapers (such as the Guardian and the Telegraph) mentioned cleared out shelves and panic buying. Specifically at one Carrefour at City Centre Mall. They all mention "queues up to 25 people deep" so I'm assuming that they are all sourcing one article.
Had a coffee there a decade or so ago, and bought some socks.
Meanwhile the Iranian Government is probably sitting down with a big bowl of popcorn.
With butter.
To be fair, having been there, I wouldn't be sympathetic. They have brought a lot of this on their own heads.
Yeah. Getting large requires taking a few risks. As much as I dislike Al J, I would rather they don't shut it down to please the King of Saudi. Flipping him the bird is a good thing.
German minister for foreign affairs, Sigmar Gabriel, after talking to several of his colleagues in the ME, is afraid that this situation could lead to a war soon.
.
did you bet the over or the under on a war? Hasn't happened yet, mostly due to the Saudi Armed Forces being the Armed Farces.
This looks good for american jobs. We need a war between allies of ours who buy our weapons. That would be great for america.
sure, why not? Be the arsenal of democracy ... or whomever pays cash. :p
