At least anecdotally, a handful of critical care physicians across the country have told NBC News they've seen no evidence the drug is helping their sickest patients in intensive care.

"We've been using it," said Dr. Hugh Cassiere, a pulmonologist and medical director of Respiratory Care Services at North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, New York, a hot spot for the pandemic in the United States. "But we really haven't seen any efficacy."

"I'm not convinced it works," said Lyn-Kew, adding, "I've not seen anybody have anything near what I would call a miraculous recovery because of hydroxychloroquine."

However, a study just published in a French medical journal provides new evidence that hydroxychloroquine does not appear to help the immune system clear the coronavirus from the body.

The study comes on the heels of two others - one in France and one in China - that reported some benefits in the combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin for COVID-19 patients who didn't have severe symptoms of the virus.

I am a medicinal chemist who has specialized in discovery and development of antiviral drugs for the past 30 years, and I have been actively working on coronaviruses for the past seven.

I am among a number of researchers who are concerned that this drug has been given too much of a high priority before there is enough evidence to show it is indeed effective.

There are already other clinical studies that showed it is not effective against COVID-19 as well as several other viruses. And, more importantly, it can have dangerous side effects, as well as giving people false hope.

Taking CDC information out of context is the best your sources can do, exposing infinite ignorance, paranoia, and hate.

Where do you find so many idiots who can't read, lacking basic reading comprehension skills.

It took a few seconds reading CDC guidance to see your sources spread lies, false information, uniformed opinions, BS, and wild paranoid speculation. The sources you present are not credible.

Next time try AP News, and skip the dirt dumb websites which feed your biases and paranoia.

(albeit it will be less entertaining is you stop being fooled by websites posting BS, exposing your inability to identify lies, and false information. )

As there is no evidence whatsoever in your link to support the claim that the CDC is lying, it is indeed 'too strong'. There are other, stronger epithets one could use.
Anyway it's a simple enough thing to check. If doctors etc. are mislabelling deaths which were from other causes, then two things would stand out:
1. A drop in deaths from other causes, similar to the rise in Covid-19-related deaths.
2. No significant increase in the overall death rate.
Now I would have thought that you would pride yourself on not passively accepting what your government is telling you via the mainstream media (like, for example, quoting an interview with a Senator on ABC), so you must have checked this already.
Can you share your results?
