I was just looking at Judy Wood's site when I noticed what may have been a decietfuly-edited photograph of the rubble pile. On Page one of her data, found here:

http://drjudywood.com/articles/DEW/StarWarsBeam1.html

the buildings in the background appear to lean to the right beyond a flat rubble pile. Rotate the picture slightly counter-clockwise, so that they look like they are standing up straight, and the rubble pile seems to rise above the horizontal on the right.

Is someone having us on here?

I dont know what is wrong with that picture, but it is certainly odd. Like, the background looks pixilated........

Are you talking about these?

The top is the original, The bottom is from Wood's site.

It's been altered, but the angle is the same. Why they messed with the color balance is beyond me. Maybe it looks more ominous that way.

The camera doesn't appear to be parallel to the earth, but parallel to the perceived ground. That, and the perspective, probably give it that strange tilt. It looks, to me, that the middle firefighter may be standing at a light angle too as humans will automatically try to stand parallel with the direction of gravity.

The odder thing, to me, is that the smoke appears to suffer from conversion problems more significantly than the foreground rubble does, but it's possible that the smoke was out of focus and the conversion to a lower rez made the effect stand out more.

That's GIFWP for you. It doesn't do too well with it's typically limited (for web use) color palette.

So the flat pilers have been using faulty data to "prove" that the pile wasn't that high?

Looks like it was taken with a fairly wide angle lens which would account for the odd, converging verticals. If you look at the angles the different firefighters are standing at and extend lines through them they match the lean of the buildings and converge above the top of the photo.

The photo may have been chosen for its flat appearance though as the dishing effect of the wide angle raises the outer edges and lowers the middle, reducing the perceived height.

It looks like it climbs a decent height above the photog's position to the right of the photo, but that one photo isn't very conclusive evidence of anything other than the existence of debris.

And it is the first one that flat pilers drag out when they argue about the height of the pile. Says something about their integrity and skill at interpretting data and Judy's mental state. She is supposed to know better.

The photo itself hasn't been messed with significantly.

Much more significantly, it is cherry-picked.
