I did say "unjustifiable". It was for home consumption.

Now, if PM Morrison were to challenge Biden to a debate, it would be a different story. A non voting member of the UNSC getting a televised debate with a voting member would be a HUGE boost in global prestige.

Probably not actually true. Plenty of other nations now have significantly big enough nuclear arsenals to render the globe completely uninhabitable. Just that the USA and Russia can do this many, many times over. But just once will be more than enough. More is overkill.

Putin is all that you say, but only by dint of being the most ruthless little billionaire warlord among a set of ruthless little billionaire warlords who currently own the Russian federation. He is a jumped-up robber-baron and a very nasty and vindictive little KGB **** who cares nothing for democracy or diplomacy. He is certainly not a respected global diplomat or statesman.

So any "international debate" would only serve to give Putin prestige he doesn't merit. Unless you think just being the leader of Russia automatically warrants prestige?

The fact that we have a president who fairly confronts an autocratic leader who regularly puts hits out on his own people, and put bounties on the heads of US soldiers is what a responsible leader should do. It is just diametrically different from our previous leader who put his ego first and his country last.

If there is any leader of a country that Putin should debate, Ukraine certainly tops there list, followed by Georgia.
