Put a Fork in her she's done! VfF

She can't "perceive" through fabric barriers, yet she is keenly aware when someone nearby has an erection in their pants. Something here just doesn't add up!

Anita, I really wish you would stop masquerading as a skeptic. You are literally the epitome of woo.

I probably shouldn't be comment on personal matters, but I am highly surprised that a skeptic would enter into a relationship with you! But maybe it will do you some help, because as ever, you desperately need it.

To re-iterate: Get. Help.

Since when?!?!

Since she discovered that when you simply guess you perform at levels no different from chance.

It genuinely seems she expected this would somehow not apply to her.

I agree, it's interesting how the ability has gone from instantly to almost instantly, to a few minutes to five minutes or more, to an hour and a half...

Of course if we gave her a couple of people with unspecified medical conditions and gave her two hours on each one and she still missed their ailments... what do we think the excuses would be then?

Man, vff, to the rest of the world your reasoning is dishonest. Maybe you don't think it is, but simply put you are being dishonest. You failed and instead of admitting it, you make excuses. I don't care if your a psychic, a fireman, a boxer or a scientist, doing that is dishonest, and no amount of woo flavored rationalization will change that.

I posted about Anita on my new blog, Skepocalypse. I put it up because I wanted an environment where noone is bound by rules of maturity and respect, and foul language is encouraged. So if anyone needs to vent and say what they REALLY want to, feel free to visit and leave a comment.
A site for that already exists here.

Aye, I have visited it before (good site btw), but my site isn't specifically targeted at Anita. I intend to cover a wide variety of douchebaggery.
What was your overall take on that site specifically? Care to be a critic (if not no worries :))?

As a web designer and a skeptic, I can applaud it on both fronts. Excellent job :) I especially like the content of the survey. Like Randi, when making an inquiry the first thing I examine is motive (I voted for 'playing games').

:bigclap

Yet again Anita has been given the opportunity to demonstrate paranormal abilities and its obvious for all to see that she has no magical powers. However, yet again she puts on this "skeptical narrative" (which is nothing but a farce meant to draw support to her). How many more times are we going to go through this before people just stop giving her the attention she so very much wants?

She isn't on the "road" to being a skeptic. She has no desire to be a skeptic. The entire thing is one big ruse made to ensure that we keep paying attention to her, and its working quite marvelously.

This has been pointed out to Anita several times. Her response has always been that as long as a) she doesn't charge money for it; b) she confines her 'readings' to 'family', 'friends' (and a 'friend' could be someone she just met), and/or 'skeptics; c) she recites an oral 'for entertainment purposes only' waiver before each 'reading'; and d) she advises the person to seek conventional medical attention, then she's covered.

Note: That she is covered has been the extent of her concern. She has shown absolutely no interest or concern on what the outcome of such a 'reading' might be for her subject(s).

I get from Anita that she is a very "spiritual" person. Someone that has a "connection" with something more than just the mundane and everyday.

So, I would guess that someone like that would have great MORAL issues with what she is doing. I mean, there is a higher MORAL issue here. It may be "ok" if she doesn't charge, or "ok" if she does the "this is for entertainment" or "always seek medical attention". But morally, the chance of doing any harm to another living being, would I think lead anyone with powers given by whomever/whatever to be very very careful and to really question deeply what the purpose of this gift is. Is the gift to be wasted? Is it to be used for good? Why Anita? I am going with her really believing she has this gift, and as I am non skeptical about certain aspects of my own life, I could see her thinking she has this gift.

What I don't get is how she uses this "gift". Frankly, whomever or whatever gave her this gift would be pretty pissed off if she doesn't DO something or figure out what she has this ability for. Wasting time with skeptics certainly isn't the purpose of a gift.

Now, I do think saying "Skeptics say it isn't real..." is rather beside the point. I'd say that science has said it isn't real. THough my suggestion that she contact people at the school she attends (she is a chemistry student, yes?) where she could be tested would be a good way to go. I've talked to three different science profs who said "well if she were at my school I'd love to test her!".

Point is, morally, as a spiritual person, I would think she would really want to get going on what this means in her life. I'm not talking a reality tv show either. If she doesn't think it's real, then mucking around is pretty much par for the course. I'm hoping she can decide what direction this means for her life. I think getting on with school is almost an imperative given the nature of her supposed gift.

The important body language in my opinion is when the number of fingers is revealed. I hate failing; I know what it's like. You can see it on Anita's face. The bold step is to admit failure, which is really a victory over belief in the paranormal. The easy step is to make excuses and remain deluded.

I guess you haven't been following along.

* She used this "gift" to create a website and conduct seminars on breatharianism: http://www.angelfire.com/stars3/breathe_light/breatharianism.html

* She also contacted a migraine sufferers Meetup group to offer to "heal" them.

* She has referred to "saving lives" of people.

* On her website she lists a number of foods she has determined to have health benefits (http://www.visionfromfeeling.com/foodperceptions.html). Fortunately, I saw it and informed her that apricot seeds can be poisonous, so she at least added that warning.

* She has claimed to have found cures for cancer using her Vibrational AlgebraTM.

* She told us she wanted to do a radio call-in show.

* She has offered to investigate haunted houses.

* She says that in the past she has detected crime scenes via supernatural powers.

However, there is no supporting evidence of any success, and every single demonstration conducted in the presence of a third party has failed to provide anything of interest.
