The easy and cheap access to junk/fast-food is something that has had an impact on the extent and grade of health issues, and with regards to polynesians (maoris, samoans, papauans etc) it is possible that they do develop health-problems at a rate and frequency (based on their genetic make-up) different from other populations/groups.
