A rant based not on any of the above;

Isn't it sad that we are still discussing this 55 some years after Alan Turing ate a poisoned apple because being gay had destroyed any chance he had to continue his work?

I think that anybody who actually is bothered by somebody another person's sexuality should be ashamed of themselves. It says only bad things about the moral character of somebody who thinks that way. Does it make me intolerant that intolerance disgusts me? I don't think so. And I know I am not alone.

Really, the only people left that are worried about it were probably taught at a young age that bigotry and hatred of anything different was the way to go.

In my home, it just didn't come up. This allowed us to formulate our own opinions on the subject.

I grew up in a pretty tolerant place; My grandfather never discriminated on who could patronize the tavern, and though he would call people names like "Limey" and "Pollack", everybody got that and they all called him a Kraut.

My Mom seemed to have no problem with gay people or lesbians, as a lesbian couple used to babysit for us, and her favorite hairdresser was gay and she really liked him, but she was scared to death of AIDS; We had a couple openly gay fellows who came to our tavern, and she would throw away their glasses when they were done. I did try to tell her that bleach water would be sufficient and we already did that, but she wouldn't hear it.

I guess what you are is where you were, but I can't see how people can become adults and not re-consider that sort of hatred.

A fruit, a fish and a vegetable. What is it with insulting people with food names?

So between the troll who posts shorter and shorter potshots and has not posted a single new argument for several pages, and the opposition which seems to have given up on him and has largelly moved on to talking about food, this thread is now over?

so you literally have nothing to contribute except a bigoted comment every so often.
That's a good troll technique, actually, to be a "fly on the wall during a meeting" that mostly just sits there doing nothing, but resumes buzzing about annoying everyone once they've settled down and gone back to discussing what they were meant to discuss.

1. Lift off from wall, buzz about and annoy people
2. Fly back up and watch the spectacle from safety.
3. Wait for normal conversation to resume, and let it go on for a short while.
2. Repeat.
