Progressive Israelis to protest segregated bus line

The state shouldn't give in to religious pressure (are you listening Labour?), especially when it's for something as stupid and archaic as this. Having a mixed bus route doesn't stop them practicing their religion, their religion stops them from using the buses. That's their problem. If you hold beliefs that make your life difficult it should be you who adapts. Like most religious beliefs it's backwards and archaic. They should just have to deal with living in the modern world.

If ultra-Orthodox Judaism is too rigid and strict for these people, they are welcome to join a more modern and liberal form of Judaism. it is not the job of govt. to make their religious practices and values more bearable.

These bus lines are not a strict religious practice but a declaration by a certain few. I do believe those who are religiously observant to have buses which they know will adhere to some of their beliefs, as a great deal of Arab Muslim 'shiruts' (smaller buses) have regulations on the dress code of women who ride this form of public transportation.

As it is now (regarding the bus lines in this article), I think is going over the top and has no real religious basis.

Hear, hear! That's what I always say. If your hobby creates problems in your life, it's time to switch hobbies. And if that statement sounds awful to you... then you probably take your hobbies too seriously.
