Problems with Anecdotal Data for Elusive Species

Long, i got shafted! The one and only time in the last 3 years ive been fooled. My bad, i apologize for the link.

>>>I'll be the first to say anecdotal evidence has SOME value ( and it does) but its the weakest of the bunch and at BEST can only be used to gather hard evidence but it can only accomplish that if it is collected and analyzed properly.

Anecdotal evidence is only suggestive to me and if it does lead to supporting evidence like scat or hair or foot castings.
Needs to be handled and analyzed properly. (In Big agreement with you there).
Otherwise it will have no valid information or value to any serious scientific societies. (it will never withstand scientific scrutiny).
Where it has more importance and urgency is when it deals with real species in our world.
Again anecdotal notions (as I like to call them) should not reach a conclusion without sound evidence. Maybe if Bigfoot is just a saleable commodity anecdotal stories will have the desired effect. Maybe supporting evidence is trivial and stands in the way of it's progress.

Like wood knocking or call blasting- no one has actually seen a BF do either- they are simply "attributed" to BF

It is frustrating how much is attributed to the unknown.
knocking on wood, tossing rocks and making stick formations and so on = Bigfoot... just notions.

Sell it, share it, pass it around. It's a roleplaying game and everyone's invited. Woods n' Wildmen - patent pending.
