In the 80s the Libertarians were trying to get enough of their followers to move to NH to be able to use the vote to swing the state to 100% libertarian principles.

I posted these numbers in another thread but, I thought they went well hear also.

There are 221 towns and 13 cities in New Hampshire. I find it hilarious that they see getting 12 as a huge accomplishment (considering how easy a job it is to get on a NH ballot). I'd love to see the list of what towns.

The vote hasn't actually happened yet. They needed to get at least 25 signatures or 2% of the population (whichever is less) to get the question on a ballot. This is no real victory.

"Article 43: On petition of Herbert Moyer and other registered Exeter voters, to see if theTown will vote to do the following: “Shall New Hampshire’s Congressional Delegation be instructed to pursue a new and independent investigation to address thoroughly all of the evidence and unanswered questions related to the events of September 11, 2001? (The record of the vote on this Article shall be transmitted by the Town of Exeter to New
Hampshire’s Congressional Delegation.)”"

"Shall Vermont's Congressional Delegation be advised to demand a new, thorough, and truly independent forensic investigation that fully addresses the many questions surrounding the tragic events of September 11, 2001?"

The voters in Lincoln, Vermont approved the article, becoming the first town in the United States to call for a new 9/11 investigation. Burlington voters were not yet ready to ask for a new 9/11 investigation, with 37% voting for it and 63% against. Two of the city's seven wards, the downtown wards in which we were more successful in distributing films and literature, did in fact approve the measure. We had hoped for majority support across the city, but 37% support represents a HUGE success in terms of educating people in just a few months. One year ago, the the idea that 37% of the voters would support a new 9/11 investigation would have been unthinkable. "

That didn't work so they tried the next year to vote to arrest Bush and Cheney:

The nonbinding, symbolic measure, passed in Brattleboro and Marlboro in a state known for taking liberal positions on national issues, instructs town police to "extradite them to other authorities that may reasonably contend to prosecute them."

State lawmakers have passed nonbinding resolutions to end the war in Iraq and impeach Bush and Cheney, and several towns have also passed resolutions of impeachment. None of them have caught on in Washington.

Bush has never visited the state as president, though he has spent vacations at his family compound in nearby Maine.

Roughly 12,000 people live in Brattleboro, located on the Connecticut River in the state's southeastern corner. Nearby Marlboro has a population of roughly 1,000.

only three legal entities can investigate 9-11 in NYC. The NYPD, the New York Attorney General, and the FBI.

can the NH state police come to NYC and investigate 9-11? nope. and the NYPD would arrest them if they tried.
