If you accept the principle that words have meaning, it's an actual fact: we are now a fascist country.
Cool. One less thing for me to worry about then.

Ok, would they be willing to return them to the native peoples they were stolen from.
Much of the land in Europe and around the world was stolen from someone at some point or another. Can we drop this line of argument, especially about stuff that happened centuries ago and perpetrated by long-dead people?
That's Jeff Jobe a local guy. He runs the city and county papers here. I guess I'll have to watch today. I wish there was more time I'd pop over to Horse Cave and remind him not to choke today.

What's the statute of limitations on stolen land? How long does one have to hang onto it before it's no longer stolen?
'Conquered' land is not considered stolen. At least by the winner. And the loser, well, they lost.
What's the difference between conquering and stealing? The practical difference? If I pitch a tent in your garden and annex some of it with a wall while you're out, what do I have to do for you to consider that conquering rather than theft?
Will I need a gun?
No, you need time. In the USA it's called imminent domain.
How much time?
Which is the thrust of my initial question![]()

That was a common sentiment in the 1930s, too.
That's the comfort of knowing your history. If the analogy with Spicer and his crew holds up, you know it all works out for the best in the end.
Many millions of people didn't get to see the end.

Yeah, but people killed in wars to protect democracy are losers dontcha know...
Winners, on the other hand, avoid the draft because of bone spurs![]()
Irrelevant. 300+ million people aren't going to give back the land to the people who never owned it anyway (because those who did are dead) and it's not like it was legal ownership in the first place.
Such reasoning goes nowhere but toward division. Move on.
But if you feel bad, you can always move out of the continent. Careful, though. Lots of land around the world was stolen. Might want to go to another planet, instead.
Oh, do relax.
I just think it's an interesting question.
I was perfectly calm typing that. Try reading it with a bemused tone instead. That's a problem with written communication.
General "you". I think it's an interesting question as well, though purely academic.
