Biden will be 76 in 2016.He's out.

Bloomberg has done himself a lot of damage with his handling of the Aftermath of Sandy.

Either way, the Dems need to seriously put effort into developing a "stable" by then...Hillary is the only one of those I think will run that has a chance in Hades.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Ryan crawl Zombie-like from the political grave to run. The Spin Doctors are already blaming Romney for not being "conservative enough".

Ryan is dead meat outside the boundaries of Teatardia. The reason the ticket lost is that they did not attract enough independents. Most independents are moderates. Otherwise they would have joined the full-tilt bubble-blowers.

Huntsman, Haley and Christy are the only ones they have who do not draw scorn and derision from ratonal people for their policies, or strike outsiders to the GOP as too icky for some reason.

Scratch Huckabee. Law enforcement people hate the dirtbag after he let a killer loose to come up to Washington and off three police officers.

Little Paul is too nutso for the national scence.

For the Dems, Schweitzer or Cuomo, with Cantwell riding shotgun would work. Schweitzer has the chops on foreign policy, Cuomo is strong on domestic policies. Cantwell, having been well-tutored by Patty Murray and Norm Dicks, would bring some credibility on defense issues.

Yup. The Dems heavyweight are aging, and will be no contest against a Rep candidate, who, if they have any sense, will move more towards the centre.

I'm seeing a fight between Christie, Rubio and Bush. The time is now for them. Like Muldur said, the Dems need time to develop the next crop of heavyweights. I have said somewhere else that Dem Gavin Newsome is the next great hope for them, but he needs a Governorship, so he is two cycles away I assume.

Ryan's hat will be in the ring, but he's tainted now - he can't escape the fact he was the running mate of the guy who couldn't beat the guy whom both couldn't beat Obama.

Palin? A news story. Over. Done. Dusted. A pretty face on a bus.

Bachmann? Clinging on to her seat as I type this?

Other? Pfft. With a trio of Christie, Bush and Rubio, not a chance.

Heck, I'm calling it. Another Bush in the White House come 2016.
 
Who will succeed Obama in 2016?

Is Clinton too old to be the first female president? What other rising stars in the Democratic Party could beat the GOP in four years time?
 
I've heard people mention Chelsea. Maybe Granholm after her DNC speech.
