Presidential Debates

We'll see.

"You had the nerve to disparage ME on how I treat women? Really? REALLY?

What about the way you and your husband treated (long list of names)? "Nuts and sluts" you called it. You should be ashamed, ashamed of the way you treated those poor women. Good thing for Monica she kept that dress. Am I right, people? And you have the nerve to lecture ME. Give me a break!
"

Not saying I agree, but I think that might actually work.

His history of being sympathetic to her over this is probably what she'll use to parry the attack. "Donald you used to say these attacks against me were wrong."

“I think she’s gone through terrible times,” said Trump on CNN in November to Wolf Blitzer. “I think she’s been through more than any woman should have to bear—, everything public. I mean, women go through this on a private basis and can’t take it—. She’s on the front page of every newspaper every week with what went on in Washington. I think she’s a wonderful woman.”

It's a stupid line of attack for him because he was such a prominent defender of Bill and Hillary over Bill's affairs until he decided to run for President.

If the last debate is anything to go by Trump won't follow an attack through but will meander off into self-praise. The downside of an attack on Clinton is that it's necessarily about Clinton, and not about Trump. And he hates that.

I don't think Trump is capable of anything other than self-praise. It's the only card he has to play, and it's a lousy one.

lol and he is probably stupid enough to do it anyway, and then lie and claim he never defended her.

I was about to say he'd better have his prep team remind him of the interview/quote, because it's a fair bet he damn sure doesn't recall saying it himself.

He might be dumb enough to do it even if he remembers.

Oddly... denying it then getting fact-checked wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen for him.

In this instance.

eta: Or rather... having fact-checking turn up the old, compassionate quote.

You're wrong!

... because he is also holding the vindictive-anger card.

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh today (Only radio channel I could receive at the time) I was amazed at what he said about fact checking. He said it was the media's way of inserting their opInion.

The last thing Republicans want is an educated electorate.

Reality is biased in favor of liberals.

Trump must surely have said demeaning things about Monica Lewinsky while defending his fellow philanderer, and the Clinton team must surely have them to hand.

Why should it work? Look at the way you treated those poor women. The poor women who had sexual affairs with her husband?

Why does it matter in terms of which would make the better President? That Clinton was rude towards women who had affairs with her husband. So what? Trump is damaging the whole presidential election process. He's demeaning it, cheapening it. I just hope it recovers.

I saw an old TV interview with a couple of the Trump kids, from the first wife (and I think one of them was a much younger Ivanka), about growing up with Donald Trump for a Dad. One of the traumas they had to deal with was learning their Dad was boffing someone named Marla Maples. Marla Maples made headlines by saying Trump was giving her the best sex she ever had. It was headlines, on every newsstand in Manhattan. They talked about going to school in the morning and trying not to look at the papers displayed at corner newsstands. About schoolmates trying to console them. About knowing how hurt, how devastated their Mom was. The divorce that followed.

But Hillary said some really mean things about women who'd had affairs with her husband. And people think that this is a serious reason to think Trump would make the better President? What can you say?

One of my finest moments was when someone snapped at me "It's easy for you! You've got all these facts!"

If he can rip into the pageant winner after she gained eight or ten pounds, I really can't picture him saying anything complimentary about Monica.

And it's a shame Bill had to go and ruin the purity of Oval Office hummers... we need a bachelor in there. :p

You gotta love that the three people pushing this line of attack are Donald, Newt and Rudy. They have a combined nine marriages between them all due to their philandering.

The missing child is 22 year old Tiffany from Marla.

I mentioned her in one of these threads when someone brought up Al from Married With Children.

Tiffany is the real-life Kelly. She doesn't get talked about much. :p

Here you go...

Who knows what JFK got up to in there, but those were less vulgar times.

When Republicans do it they're alpha-males. When Democrats do it they're sleazebags. To my mind any cheating parent is a sleazebag.
