Trump's speech was terrible. I hate Trump but the less biased sources seem to agree that he stayed on message but lacked the charisma that fueled his victory.

How was the man who said those racist things able to read all those words on the teleprompter? Amaaaaazing.

ETA: This should be read in the tone of Bunsen Jude: The Science Dude from Bones. It's how I expect the GOP to attempt to sell this speech to the non-racist part of their base.

Mostly I'm surprised that regardless of whose coverage/count you're following, from 13% to 35% on various sites and networks, her plurality is still right around 400,000 I keep expecting it to roll back to much closer.

Can we add an ad hoc poll question for those of you still up and reading the thread. I realize it's already 1 a.m. on the east coast.

A. Is that intentional. Bernie is happy to speak when no one's left watching because he had the polls and knew he was going to lose big, tonight?
B. Does he do his patented,... On to the Convention, insisting that he's going to turn this around by winning 447% of the delegates in D.C.?
C. Does he pledge to "Carry the fight.... er, for what we stand for...." to the convention but concede and call for party unity and for the progressives to re-dedicate themselves to progressive issues in the convention and within the rejuvenated progressive wing of the Democratic Party?

ETA: I'm voting for C. I think he's having a Ted Cruz come-to-moses moment, which is why he's kept pushing back his speech. It'll be interesting to hear if his supporters boo him for giving up. So far, tonight, they've cheered for ND caucus results, booed the announcement that Obama had spoken to Bernie, booed every result/report of Hillary clinching it.

CNN has been giving about equal time to Bernie eking out a narrow win in Montana (21 delegates) as to Hillary winning big time in California (475 delegates).

Clinton leads 56% to 43% with over 90% of ballots counted. I should just never try to predict anything. I have gotten only one thong even vaguely right - Clinton's clinch - and even that was off by four months.

Stupid Bernie supporters stayed home and cried into their iced mocha lattes and Sociology 101 textbooks.

Someone check my math. It looks like CA dems turned out 4.8 million people in the 2008 CA primary. This year, 3.2 million make up 93% of the votes counted, so maybe 3.5 million overall.

It looks like CA really may have had depressed voter turnout that benefitted Clinton.

That might be a false assumption about causality. All the turnout in the Democratic primaries were lower than 2008, not just CA. Sanders actually won more caucus states with lower turnouts than the 2008 caucuses.

In contrast the GOP had larger turnouts nationwide.

Sanders largely off-base in saying he wins when voter turnout is high and loses when it's low

The bottom line is that we found a few cases where Sanders won high turnout states, but overall, the case he makes is pretty thin.

Yeah Hillary won (like she will win in November) but she got a lot more votes than I had thought (Clinton by 51%-53% was my vote).

Voted. While not necessarily an indication of who I voted for, I believe we will see an early result with close margins, but overnight Clinton will be in the mid 50s with Bernie strong int he low 40s. Tomorrow, rage will shoot through the gauge into the mid 90s that will cool as the week progresses. We should see some lower temperatures through the weekend, but on Monday there will be some renewed anger as conspiracy theorists start to yell, "I TOLD YOU SO!"
