Powerball for April 8, 2005

Without any evidence to support this, I actually believe that most of the claimants who go for the Randi million, are doing this for these reasons:

1) The fame that follows.

2) The money.

3) Proving all the skeptics wrong.

3.1) Revenge on those who made them look stupid.

I'm sure there are also other reasons.. This is just my spontaneous conclusion.

Edit for elab: And/Or.

The pendulum has been very accurate in telling me certain things, especially things very short term. For example, just a couple of months ago, we were at our other farm and there were two lambs born. One was rather weak, and we were trying to decide whether or not to bring the baby back to our other farm where we live and bottle feed it. I didn't really want to be bothered, but Stephen said he wanted to take it.
So while he went to the barn I sat in the truck and took off my necklace to use as a pendulum. I asked the pendulum will he come out with the lamb and we have to take it with us? And the pendulum swung no.
Sure enough, Stephen decided not to take the little lamb.

As far as being more specific, as in lotto numbers, I believe it is a real possibility, and I believe that practice *can* make perfect. It may take awhile, but diligence will pay off, I sincerely believe.

Wow, that's amazing... have Stephen flip a coin and use the pendulum to determine if it will be heads or tails... then have him do it a 100 times. You too could win a million dollars!

:bs:

Well, I don't get why you want to stick your head out here if you're aware that you will fail to get the right powerball numbers this evening. You have already tried the powerball numbers on this forum once, and failed.
It actually supports PSA's theory, concerning that you're merely doing this to get attention.

mayday, if you want to prove us wrong that you're not doing this for attention, how about predicting the lottery numbers in just one thread instead of starting a new one every time? Then if people want to read about it, they'll come check it out.

The pendulum's prediction for tonight's drawing:

7 11 24 39 42

PB 33

1 11 35 46 53

PB29

My God... your pendulum's powers are blinding me!

(So far, the best Mayfig has done is 1 match out of 6 numbers... which wins you $0.)

I don't mean to sound selfish, but the predictions will be more convincing if my screen shows the posting date (April 9) BEFORE the powerball prediction date (April 8)

...rather than after.

thanks

good morning Mayday.

Just wondering if you had a chance to look into the ideomotor effect link I posted. It might explain what is happening with your pendulum. This spooky effect along with remembering when it works and forgetiing when it fails would make anyone think there is something amazing going on. Even the person who first tried to sell you a pendulum.

Hey, don't laugh. Without the pendulum I NEVER got ANY of the numbers.

So what is that supposed to mean? Even the article admits the movements are *unconscious*. The pendulum is supposed to pick up on your unconscious sixth sense. To access that sixth sense and communicate with it through the pendulum.
Like anything worth doing, it takes practice.

The ideomotor effect is one way of explaining how this can happen without recourse to a psychic sixth sense that nonsensically "knows everything that's going to happen".

You are moving the pendulum without really meaning to, it sounds like you're agreeing with that now.

All that remains is for you to simply demonstrate that you have a sixth sense which knows all. Easy peasy! ;)

mayday, I recommend reading some books on probability. I'll ignore the power ball itself here. The odds of getting one number right are m/n (m being the number of balls and n being the highest number on any of the balls.) In your case, I'm going to guess n = 50. With 5 balls, that gives you a 1/10 chance of choosing one number right.

Sorry, but you're not amazing.

You haven't answered my question, Mayday. You said the pendilum could predict Powerball numbers with 90 percent accuracy. Are you going to admit to having lied to us?

I think that's clear, unless Mayday can explain where the 90% number came from. Show us the math you did to come up with that number?

Just like in school, you have to show your work so we know you did it.

In that case, you were more paranormal without your piece of string.

Now that would be worth a million dollars!

(See, what that is, is your long-term memory not functioning correctly... if you get 1 number in about every 5 powerball drawings... that gives many people the impression that "I NEVER got ANY of the numbers"... it's really pretty basic math and probability... my 10 year old understands it.)

So what about the 90% claim?

Blowing smoke or more long-term memory malfunctions?

Mayfig, you're either a classic troll or a classic idiot... and I don't think you're a troll. ;)

Good afternoon Mayday.
If you listen to what everyone on this thread has been typing to you, you might see that this is a case of remembering the hits and forgetting the misses. This is nothing to be ashamed of. This happens with everyone. Once you recognize this and can accept it as the way our memories work, you might just toss away your pendulum. The thing to be ashamed of would be to ignore a well known explanation for your experience and to continue to insist on living in your fantasy world where your sixth sense can predict everything. that would be a shame.

I should have been more careful. When I was predicting the PB number with the pendulum, it started swinging yes between 28 and 33...I must have chosen too rashly, rather than take the ample time to really figure it out. I chose all the numbers too rashly.

I will do better for this Wednesday's drawing.
